You can't =D I'm not giving away the name

Well I won't share the exact same author I was inspired by but I can tell you the famous poet Billy Chapata uses Instagram the very same way

    UPDATE 4/12/2019

The launch was executed exactly a week ago. It's been a crazy ride so far and I am very excited to share my results with you. Numbers are amazing but I have to tell you honestly I've been working hard at this project for more than a year. It does not happen over night! =)

    EARNINGS SO FAR

    Books sold: 649
    Earnings: $9,735
    Earnings per day: $1,390.71

I announced the presale to all of my audience on Monday. That single day the book made over 1500 USD. Pretty nice! =D

Few lessons I've learned along this launch:
    - Conversion rate of the waiting list might be expected at about 30-40%
    - Scarcity works wonders. People are lazy to order immediately. I warn them of the limited copies in all of my messages
    - It's neccessary to send multiple emails to my list as the open rate is 30% only. I usually send one every 2-3 days.
    - Emails alone are not as effective as when combined with Facebook ads. I uploaded my email subscribers to Facebook and then remarketed them with ads.
    - It's easy to watch the orders roll in but you have to keep working hard. I answer every single question about the book I get from my audience.
    - Give away content for free. Lot of content. I post excerpts from my book to social media EVERY day. Of course I always add a link to the book.
    - Relationship with your audience is crucial. I document everything so they know what's going on. I talk about the print process, I talk about the obstacles I was facing, I talk about my feelings and excitement from the launch, I talk about how quick the book is sold and so on. I talk about everything the same way I'd talk to my buddy in a pub.

More updates are about to come.
Hopefully I'll sell all of the copies till next week.

    Have a great day!!

Really cool journey! Congratz on your success!

You said that you boost your posts in FB to get more people interested - how did you start gaining the followers when you had 0 people liking your page? Did you start with boosting your posts straight away? Also, Do you write long posts on your blog and boost them or do you also boost your small excerpts that have no links?

    Thanks!

    Thanks

Yeah exactly. There's no point in focusing on the amount of your likes from the beginning. It's just a number with no meaning. Focus on your content and delivering it to people. Eventually people will get used to read your articles and they develop a relationship. That's your goal. Page likes aren't that important at all. You can make more money with 5000 people loving you than with 100000 who have no relationship to your work.

No, they're not long. 100-150 words usually

I used to boost excerpts with no links at the beginning but only because I had no website. I'd recommend to first create a website and a lead magnet or something like that in order to collect email addresses right from the start. Much more effective in the long run... I started to collect emails only 3 months ago. If I did it sooner I'd have maybe 5x-6x bigger list and therefore I'd make more money. Foolish I was

Today I also started to use remarketing in Google Ads. I basically remarket those who visited the sales page but did not order. Looking forward to the results.

Hello, congratulations on the launch it has been a success and I am sure it is going to get better.

What email marketing service are you using? Can you talk a bit about this process?

    Waiting for the next update!

    Thanks for the answer :)

Yeah, I got that - the page likes are not important but at first when you did not have a website - did you just marketed to the same demographics over and over again (or can you do retargeting without a website and fb pixel as well?)? What was your budget/day - how did you make an educated guess that it was worth the money?

Also, when promoting your website - how did you gather email leads? Did you use somekind of overlay window at first that offers some freebie or smth and then when they enter the email the overlay disappears and then they see the blog post or how?

I am using MailChimp. It's free as long as you have up to 2000 subscribers I guess

Well, honestly I have sent just a few emails within the last 2-3 months. Usually marketers use email as a tool to build a relationship with the audience but I had already built it through social media and the regular content. Therefore, it was not neccessary to send more emails to reach these numbers.

Hey great question. I have never said this before but yeah! I DEFINITELY MARTKET THE SAME PEOPLE AGAIN AND AGAIN. Its one of the most efficient methods I've came across. Facebook advertising allows you to create a custom audience based on people who have engaged with your page or content in the last days/weeks/months. Use this audience when targeting your ads all the time, guys. Your goal here is to build a relationship and that can be done only through repeated contact with your readers

Honestly, I had no guess about the budget. I just invested whatever I could afford at the time. It can be 100 bucks a month or 500 bucks a month. Depends on what is possible for you. Think about the advertising as a long-term brand building and not as a short-term money maker. As the audience grows you'll sell more and more and more books or other products. Actually, I am thinking about taking all of the earnings and reinvesting it back into growing my audience. I don't see the immediate ROI as a first priority, although it is important of course. I am more interested in having a HUGE fanbase and/or an email list of people wanting to buy my products. If I'll be able to grow my list to 20-30.000 people then I know I'll be able to make hundreds of thousand dollars a year with it.

Thanks man. Yeah definitely it can be used in other niches as well. I use Mailchimp

I did something similar to you and there are actually a couple of neat tricks you can apply.

    1. To quickly and cheaply build a target audience on facebook create a relevant video, of between 2-3 minutes. Then set up a views campaign. Then target the audience who watch >75% of the video with your ads. If they sat through 2 minutes or so of your video they are highly interested in what your offering.

    2. With just 3000 subs I was making over $30,000 per month. I did that by providing lower priced weekly content as a series. Rather than launching 1 more expensive book every several months.

    Hope that helps.
