    Hey Guys,

So i wanted to contribute to this forum a bit and explain a little case study that I think holds some water...

Here is the situation. I have an exact match keyword domain with an affiliate store and very limited content, pretty much just all affiliate links:

    www dot hoodedfleecejacket dot net

I was targeting the keywords, hooded fleece jacket and hooded fleece.

When I built the site I did some backlinking and got around 2,000 backlinks from various sources and manage to make myself #2 for hooded fleece jacket and #7 for hooded fleece.

I decided to do more link building annnnnnnnndddd splat Google slapped me like a red headed step child.

I decided to try this trick from "newkid"

    http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackh...168728-how-i-ranked-top-10-google-3-days.html

I followed the exact steps. Remember my site has over 2,000 backlinks from decent PR sites.

I watched Google carefully when I implemented the method, they cached the "new page" around 12 hours after I placed it up.

24 hours.... nothing happened, I actually saw a negative affect.

So I took the fake page down and then this morning checked the ranks just for the hell of it and.

There I am, #1 for hooded fleece jacket and #2 for hooded fleece...

    ----------------------------------

ok what is the logic behind all of this though??

Obviously we'll see if it sticks, but I would just like to engineer this down to why it worked

I don't understand your claims. I don't see your site ranked in the top 100 and YSE shows less than 100 links for your site (Google shows zero).

I wonder if there will be later repercussions from Google for doing this? I think I might try this out for one of my throw away sites and see how it goes.

Yea, like I said, Google still has the old "fake" page up in it's cache, so really the question of test is will it stick there or around the current positions, and if I continue link building will it just shoot back down.

    Only time will tell...

    Hi,
    I have a doubt
After redirecting all the pages to the homepage i added an index.html file with the details.
So when i type the url i am redirected to the home page not to the index.html page...Please correct me if i am wrong.?

    hps,

The Htaccess fix should point everything and anything to the main index.html file, the root domain, and your "fake page" should be displayed

    • Thanks Thanks x 1

If you've tested it, ignore my comment but if not here it is: maybe you can see whether your conversion is better if you eliminate one extra click to go to the seller. I went to women, denali then details (expected a price and possibility to buy) but I got the same text and had to click details once again to get to the order page.

    Monrox,

Yea the site needs to definitely fixed up, little was done to it once it was sandboxed so I plan to do those changes but want to see how Google reacts to the change before I invest time into it.
