    Hi BH'ers,

Can anyone advice me what the best to do when a client of mine lost his PR6 to PR2 2 years ago because of a redesign. I understand it will be hard to get the old PR6 back but maybe it's possible to get some PR back.

I assume the problem is because of having valuable pages on the previous website with no proper redirection the new current website has less value. What do you guys think? And would it be the first step to identify the old pages from the previous website? Or will it not be possible in any way to save the PR?

Thanks for thinking with me guys!

I had a similar experience. Moved a blog to wordpress from blogspot platform a couple of week ago. PR dropped from 2 to 0. Traffic has been steady. Looks like its improving but would like to know the thoughts of you guys to avoid such drops in the future.

My redirects were perfectly fine. But I changed the site structure. That could have been the reason. I have seen PR return in a few weeks in such cases and am hoping it does :)

if you have played with your URL...It might be the case...as the back links would have been pointing to your old URLs..

If you did not change the URLs ..then ideally the PR should not have dropped. or it has dropped because of some other issue

Thanks for reply. This is the issue (I guess). The backlinks have been pointed to the old URLS.. Is there a chance to fix this?

Yes. There's a chance to fix it... 301 Redirect all the old page to respective New URLs...

P.S: "Thanks button is very near to your Mouse"

Thanks again! Good to hear there's still a good chance, however what if my client cannot remember their old site structure anymore AMD their "old" webpage url's of their previous website.
