I was going to post this in response to coreygeer's thread http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/blackhat-lounge/287163-had-real-life-realization-wake-up-call.html, but I think it applies to more people than just the OP of that thread. I don't claim to be some motivational guru and I don't claim to know everything, and I'm not doing this to seem like some kind of credible "wise" man. But I know what has worked for me. (My post starts with a reference to that original thread, talking about a video game.) I'd like to think that this isn't just another silly "All you have to do is take action!" post, and if you don't read the entire thing it may sound that way... and maybe it is... but this is my perspective and it has genuinely worked for me.

I hope this silly rambling post helps someone out there.

No matter what- I cannot settle...I just can't

I keep grinding because I must. I set goals to reach them, and I do it for me.

Nice post man. When you talk about breaking through the layers of progress really speaks to me.

We are so blessed to have the opportunity to be in charge of how much money we make. If you are making enough money to live you are truly blessed. Keep moving forward but never forget what you have learnt.

Also, It's worth mentioning that this applies to things more important than money as well. Time is truly the most precious commodity we are given, and making money should serve as a way to improve the quality of the time you're given.

I agree. I think a lot of people lose sight of that, unfortunately.

Guys listen to this if you haven't. Jim Rohn (RIP) is the man and I think this is his best lecture (especially towards the end):

Thanks, Brent360, for starting this thread and felt like throwing in my 2 cents, hope you don't mind...being one of the older (and female) members I have been on my own journey of profiting online, and have had success on a few fronts, including the offline world which I have been doing since '95, my first official offline business website. Because I am self taught as a programmer, my problem is letting go of the programming and graphics because it is too close to home. (I guess I am a bit of a slower at the IM thing, but I will get there.)

Anyway, fis the same for us all, and no money buys any more than 24 hours a day...period.

My dad passed last summer and he loved computers, too. (He saw me here on BH and was full of questions, neat really) He loved to say, "Worrying about tomorrow, while thinking about what you did wrong yesterday, guess what, your pissing all over today." Well, something to that effect, but I think you get what I mean. -eshera

edit: Found it - ""With one leg in yesterday, and one leg in tomorrow, your pissing on today." Although I think he said it to me above. Perception, interpretation, both wonderful tools if used properly.

When I see long posts like these I usually read one or two sentences and end up hitting the left arrow on my browser, but from the first couple of sentences to your point about luck, this has been one of the most motivational threads I've read and will utilize this for my everyday struggle to survive and to finally have enough opportunity to set goals with higher standards than what I have right now.

I truly thank you for your words.

    Regards,
    -thizz

There's plenty of great advice if you lurk long enough and learn how to separate the diamonds from the sand. :)
