Friend of Mine is a Skilled Programmer. Would you Pay for a Reddit Bot, and How Much?

Discussion in 'BlackHat Lounge' started by JasonZ10, Dec 24, 2011.

?

How much is the most you would pay for a functional Reddit bot?

  1. I'd like to have a Reddit bot but I wouldn't pay a dime for it.

So basically, I've seen lots of people wanting a functional Reddit bot, and one of my friends could make a working Reddit bot in just a week or two. If he does make one, how much would you pay for it. Vote in the poll.

What kind of features do you want in the bot? Of course there's going to be proxy support, account creator, upvote/downvote submissions and comments.

VBulletin or whatever BHW uses thinks it's a good idea to make you post a topic before starting the poll.

Generally what you said is fine. Account creator and upvote downvote. Also proxy support and multi threading. I think $57 is ok for such a bot.

ok heres the deal with the one i have created...
im always wary about posting tools like this on the forum or even selling them...if this method of automation gets saturated, the man hours invested in keeping the tool up to date will far outweigh the cash recieved from sales.

You also need to ask yourself the question...why hasnt this been done before or if it has then where did others fail?

reddit are pretty switched on to spammers and they will make changes, and yes we can addapt but it comes back to the time invested over the money invested again. Again this is why i am always wary of selling my tools...the more of the tool i sell the quicker the method gets patched.

I may give a couple of people a copy of the account creator to try out but thats as far as im willing to for now.

Yeah I totally understand. If my friend makes this bot, we're definitely not going to release it right away. I'll take a copy of the account creator if you're implying something here ;)

I actually ended up getting a reddit bot. It's called Redditroll. It's not bad, but it could be done better. It's like a bot made in UBot but a bit better. Click here for their salespage
