This is a list of stat / referral sites that I harvested 18 October 2009

2355 sites, many stat pages have PR1-7

Can be used with prstorm etc for fast indexing and backlinks

does prstorm works to increase pagerank or backlinks? how it works? where can i found any tutorial on how to use prstorm?

I feel dumb...but then it's OK to ask once than being dumb forever...So, what does a referral type site mean? How are these useful? Someone please clarify.

this is another type of backlink building method.Once your site sends a visitor to another site,say X,your site URL will be listed as one of the referrers.hence you get a backlink from the referrer stats and these stats are crawled by search engines.cool isnt it?You can get lots of links from this method.

Will give this a try. Someone psted a list last month and it didn't show any backlinks for me after using it. And yes, I know how to use PR Storm. I'll see what happens with this list.

Thanks for the list!

So I've been reading about prstorm and watching the training video, going to give it a shot SLOWLY on my site - 2 years old and 1200 backlinks.

How slow do you think I should go? I'm thinking 50 referrers a day, and ramp it up if things start showing up after a couple of weeks.

The second thing I don't understand is where on these sites the backlinks come from. For instance, one page on this list is hxxp://search.cpan*org/ -- now where would this site ever post its referrer logs for a backlink?

I guess prstorm can just take care of it, but I'm not seeing the light just yet on a technical level.

OK, for this I'm starting to understand. Any site with something like wusage/webalyzer/awstats/etc will post back links. For instance:
hxxp://www.highspeedpc*com/wusage/

Now if I look at their referrers for today, I only pinged them once, so I'm not even on the top 10 list. Am I going to get a link anywhere in there? Do these stats apps show multiple pages of data? Should I do more pings to try to break into top 10 lists? I'd rather not at this point... just tryin to get the feel.

I'm really sorry if this seems like bumping, but this is the first time I've ever been on/posted on here. I've got this list and I'm going through it, but the first couple are like analysis sites. Is that right? How will that help?

PRStorm seems to be doing a quick job posting to these sites. Is there a way to slow down lets say 50-100 a day. I take it if your site was posted to 3k referral sites in about an hour it would be a big sin.

How's your tool compare to PRStorm? ...not that I've really had any luck with PRStorm as it is
