I've noticed that pages that I update a lot seem to rank a bit easier. How important IS fresh content, and how often does G like to see it?

That's a good question, I've seen similar things, which don't make a whole lot of sense. I've had crappy spun articles that I updated often, rank much better than very high quality original articles that are much longer as well. This goes against everything I thought I knew, but it happens to me more often than I'd like.

You gotta look at it from the little crawler's point of view. They don't know if an article makes sense or not, they just go by the variables that Google sets for them. Some might be last time a site is updated, length of article as stated above, duplicate content (obv), keyword density, etc.

You might wanna search around the net for some tips on how crawlers work.

Google did an algo update recently to rank more upto date and relevant content higher for newsworthy items, so a lot would depend on your niche.

I think "fresh content" affects only Micro Niche Sites. What google said about "fresh content" is whatever google sees fresh that given more importance than the old stuffs. Its not that when you post an article regarding Weightloss will rank in No:1. Just google "football" Same NFL site appears but it also displays fresh content of that site like - 2hrs ago, 16hrs ago etc., MNS have less competition so if you update a fresh content its showing on results. In my Option.

if fresh contents will be updated in your website then people like to see your website daily otherwise no one will visit your website daily once all contents are read then why people visit your website again thts why you need to update the content to grab the new bulk visitors for your site...

What? Aren't you missing the point?

The thread talks about how Google ranks fresh content and by doing that your site on it's SERP.

Getting re-occurring guests is mighty impossible even with whitehat sites.
