French News Sites Want Google To Pay Commissions for Linking to Them

    On one side, it sounds ridiculous to expect someone to pay you for putting a link on their site that leads to yours. On the other hand, if Google has nothing of value to index, their search engine becomes worthless. Could asking for payments from Google for allowing them to index your site be a way of taking them down?

    If they didnt wanted to get indexed they should have used a noindex meta in my opinion.

    On the other hand, every big company who is giving G a hard time is a +1 from me ;)

    I think it's more than just not wanting to get indexed. It's their way of trying to make money off of Google, I think.
