    Hi Everyone,

I'e been lurking for a while, and after reading hekke's Amazon thread in particular (thanks bro!) I've decided to start this log of my adventures with Amazon niche sites. My first goal is to reach about $200 per month by August 2016 to help fund my travels.

I currently have 1 Niche Site that I have started, and will start to build my second this weekend.

I actually built Site 1 back in December of last year, and finished my main kw page of about 2000 words, but work and other commitments drew me away from it. After checking it out of curiosity I saw that I had done a random sale, which acted as proof of concept and motivated me to build out the site. I currently have 2 main kw pages and about 15 review/info articles - aiming for 20+ by the end of the month.

This morning I saw my second sale, with no backlinking done yet, so I hope to have the site in a good position to take advantage of the holiday sales.

I found a second Keyword I mean to start building Site 2 around, which is low comp 1300 global searches and high value, which is perfect for a site like this.

Does anyone have experience building on an expired domain? My first site is on a new brandable url is doing fine, but there are a few very closely related aged/expired domains with existing backlinks available (nothing huge, and non-spammy), so I'm thinking of using these to give the site a bit of an initial boost. If anyone has experience with this I'd love to hear your opinions.

That's it for now, I look forward to sharing my experience and connecting with you all.

I'm doing the same. But after posting in arganrecords thread, he commented the it was hardly worth the time and effort for $200 a month, which was my target too. He said I needed to go for more. Now, I'm guessing you're in the same boat as me, with not a lot of free time or money. After giving it some thought, I've decided to set my target higher. And I think you should too!
The biggest challenge is getting traffic. So pick some smart keywords and add a lot of content! I'll be following for sure to see your success. These journey threads are hugely inspiring.

Hope you reach your goal, but be aware that you have to put hard work in it!

I'm currently earning between 200-300 a month. Honestly, I have never passed 300$. My next goal is to make 500$ a month with Amazon. I'm building brand new sites, so I know they will need time...

Here is a little update of what I've been working on this week. I will give a full monthly report next week and will let you know my plans for the coming months.

    Site 1:
Articles: 2 main, 12 supporting (reviews and content pieces)
    Visitors: 38
    Clicks: 46
    Sales: 6
    Value: $5.13

    Site 2:
    Articles: 1 main in progress
    Visitors:
    Clicks:
    Sales:
    Value:

I received another order this week, although it wasn't in my niche. This is one of the advantages of using Amazon sites - you get a 24hr cookie period where anything a customer buys you get commissioned for.

I'm uploading 2 articles onto Site 1 from my writer tonight, and will continue to write my main article for Site 2. Yesterday I was busy uploading my theme and plugins.

Here are some of my favourite plugins for Amazon sites:

Yoast - for on page SEO
Tablepress - for making product comparison tables
Clicky - to track visitors/bounce rate etc
Wincher - for tracking Keywords int he SERPs

What themes and plugins do you guys like to use and recommend?

That's it for now, I look forward to hearing from you all and thanks for the support so far :)

Hey, you asked me how many sites I have. Well, I have now 8 sites. 2 are ranking and earning me money(10-11months old), all white-hat. on 3 of them I have like 10 articles(2-3) months old done none backlinks... 1 sites has around 5 articles(7 months old, gets very little traffic, no earning)... 1 completely haven't touched 1 site which I have bought, because I somehow recognized its hard to write about content and than monetize it. And finally here is another site which I'm working on now. I have written 12 articles. Planning to write 20 and than start doing backlinks.

A little change at Amazon. It's my first month that I passed 300$ and there was another big record yesterday. 30 items ordered which lead to 102$. This is a big record for me and I hope I will once have around 100$ on a daily basis.

    Hope you suceed!

Thats awesome, thats for the info :D it sounds like you've learned a lot and have been working on this for about a year (my deadline for similar earning to you). Do you have any tips for a young padawan like me, and for anyone else interested? I'm particularly interested in your white hat approach - have you done any link-building?

Great start. I'm going to follow closely. My site is currently getting 5-10 unique visitors a day. I know that if I can get more traffic it will convert, since the few visitors I get are already going to Amazon. This week I will work on a few tier 1 web 2.0s and blog comments in my niche. I also bought a small package of 5 links recently, but I don't want to point too many paid links to my site.

Hey! Good luck on your journey. Look forward to seeing you progress. Have you built backlinks to your site yet? Seems like you already have some commission already. Are you currently ranking for your keywords?

I hear people say that I need first sale to get accepted into Amazon Associates. Is that true ?
