I just paid a visit to freelancer.com to see if I could find an opportunity to put my IM skills to work for someone quickly. First of all, I've always known about FL, but didn't get involved until I took their website flipping market freemarket.com for a test drive (garbage) ... anyways, my first impression for seeking internet marketing employment on freelancer was this... I login, and click browse projects. At the top I see "Google SEO" they want SEO & SMM done for their project... fate and gravy right? Right up my alley. Then I look at their budget for the project...... $10-30. Is this a dnwosjd joke?! Is it a fluke? Is this the demo of the platform? Most significantly.. is there a platform for internet marketers out there where we can connect with people who are looking to hire us? Am IM job board of some sort? Obviously, I can find my own clients... I have 3 now.. but I'm flabbergasted if there isn't a job board somewhere. There was one called SEO experts or something to that affect, but it looked pretty crowded with rock bottom offers.. which are obviously bogus... amy thoughts or input?

I always wondered if freelancer does not have ppl in their office just writing n posting bogus projects so they can sell their membership and points or whatever

Wouldn't it be nice to have a job board though? Something like flippa that attracts a lot of noobs, but like freelancer and fiverr that attracts people who know how to actually do shit. All in all it needs to be fair pay for fair work, because this industry can be pretty difficult to master.

Of corse its worth it :)

I used them a lot. But usually I give them a small job like $20 that is part of the script I want or something. Then if the communication/work is good, I hire him.
I also put at the end of my briefing a word like "awesome" and ask them to contact me with that word. This way I know who read my briefing and who do not :)

Thats not true. The problem is that they usually say "Yes I can do it" but in the end, they can't. But if you follow my advice, you will get great people at a cheap price.

Probably as someones who wants to hire there isn't much of a problem, however, as someone looking to do a job it really is. People not paying or suddenly not responding

Yes that's true! And when you finally get selected it's the question if that person will still respond and pay you..

Freelance is a very competetive space today, you have to build a long-term base of buyers or otherwise it's just not worth it. A lot of desperate freelancers on those sites bringing prices lower and lower and you cannot really earn decent money without working 24/7 for pennies

Or you have to have quite a uniquie set of skills so there is a clear demand in you.

Another problem is saturation. There are a plethora of freelancers, but the good ones are few and far between and keep themselves paid doing our own work. That's what keeps the price so low. Ya get what you pay for I guess.

I haven't checked freelancer, but have used upwork. Upwork suspended my account for sending too much proposals and getting less jobs. They are mean people. :(

you may find on upwork better clients but about the scamming people its hard to avoid on any freelancer platform. I'm on 2 platforms (upwork and pph) and they represent like 10% or less than that of the work i do. Upwork has better budget work but high fees and a lot of competition and you can't advertise a service like for instance on fiver, people per hour its like a mix of upwork + fiver and slightly less fees (almost the same but kind of different, the higher you earn the less % you pay, upwork its a lot worse).
