    Hi, I created a project on Freelancer and I accepted a $250 bid. There was an initial milestone request of $50 from the seller and I released it. Now, the seller is nowhere to be found and I'm pretty sure he won't be in the near future either.

    My question is, can I still dispute that $50 milestone I released and get my money back?

    Thanks!

    It'll depend on how many days it been releasing your milestone.

    Freelancer in my experience dont give a toss about you or your money. I have had this before with a right idiot content provider. I went through the due diligence and paid the milestone. the content was not supplied and I emailed the freelancer and Freelancer admin (they gave me a lot of rubbish) I ended up having to negotiate with the provider to get some of my money back.

    Freelancer take money off you and the freelancer so want to keep both on side.

    Hope you get it sorted... Not all freelancers are crap :)

    I have had some good freelancers from there but to be honest it is always a risk even when you read the feedback. I just spend small amounts and when I get a freelancer, I take them away from freelancer and deal with them outside. As for the level of decent work in content, well most of the time it is shoddy. I ended up doing it myself as well as the videos etc.

    You can only dispute open milestones. Once you have released a milestone it's supposed you were satisfied with freelancer's work and released the funds he deserved. So I don't think you can get your money back.
    One thing you can do is to tell the freelancer you will cancel the project. If he has a good reputation he will avoid a cancellation from your side because the project will appear on his profile page as incomplete.
    Then you will agree with the freelancer one of the following:
    1. The freelancer will continue on the project and will deliver the completed work within the agreed deadline;
    2. "Threaten" the freelancer that you will cancel the project. If he has a good reputation he will avoid this solution and maybe he'll send you your money back.
    3. Cancel the project and revenge your $50 by leaving him an incomplete on his profile page.
    No matter your option above I suggest contacting freelancer stuff before.
    Cheers!

    Freelancing is the new and easiest way of earning money online these days. They say that you will get heavy income if you got heavy talent. Gone are the days when one had to roam around in order to get some work and cash using one?s skills. Nowadays you can even earn sitting in your drawing room while working as you please.
