So Saturday night I got a strike on my Youtube account, now I'm awaiting an appeal.... if I'm rejected I won't be able to have external links to my site for 6 months. My channel has 500 videos

The video that got flagged is a tourist video but got flagged for discrimination and is just me and my girlfriend walking around a tourist spot. However, earlier that day I had responded to a troll saying they weren't funny because they said my video was shaky, its the only comment on the video and I didn't use any swear words or offensiveness I just said they weren't funny.

A few hours later I logged into my account to find out the video had been deleted and I had a tiny tweet sized line(about 100 characters to appeal)

The only possible thing which could be remotely offensive is that I said 'I moved abroad to get away from Western women' in the description, how is this possibly the cause for a strike? this is freedom of speech, there are plenty of other videos discussing this in detail

What do you think the chances that a female reviewed it? As feminist extremism is rampant I'm guessing this is the cause.... I wish I had the funds to make a court case like Alex Jones did... they claim in their TOS that they protect free speech

You're more likely to have swifter action taken comparing genders than other taboo subjects, if you combine cultural aspects into the mix on top of that this can happen.

One thing, when you're working with Youtube and you're treating it as a business, or with any business pretensions, you gotta be double patient with trolls.

Youtube comments are notorious for being complete crap, and most the time it's safer to just ignore crap.

OTOH, I think you also made a mistake there with the western women comment. If you're making Youtube your money maker, then that's an inappropriate comment. Business owners have got to be twice as careful with what they post, so if your video is seen by many, that sort of comment can really hurt you.

Its a complete double standard though because if a women said the reverse nothing would be said and probably even laughed at...
A Western women saying she's leaving the country to get away from Western men wouldn't even batter an eyelid.... I said it in the description as well. I didn't actually say it to the troll, they said my video was shaky and I said they weren't funny
Its an attack on free speech, its just an opposing view but Youtube censor things that challenge the status quo

If they are going to attack freedom of speech at least this thread will get archived in Google as one of the many complaints against what their doing

Richard, I don't want to be offensive here. But I would advise you to take the comments of dinkish and bartosimpsonio for real.

If you want to make a living out of something, be professional. Even if it means you have to lick a**es sometimes - the customer (aka troll in some circumstances) is always right.

If you have the chance, try to excuse yourself and that you did not think about the negative implications your comment/title/whatever had on other people.

Yes I know I was wrong to respond to the troll.... it was the after affects which caused the problem...the troll got upset and false flagged my video..it was probably a guy who flagged it as well because video was about Russian girls in Thailand and I filmed some of them. So no women are even going to be watching this video, this is why the complaint is totally false. The video had 9000 views and 5 likes over 3 months

If it was the fact that I said 'I travel abroad to get away from Western women' I still don't think that can be classed as discrimination or bullying thats ridiculous... I still feel like I am innocent and now I've lost the ability to link out to my site.
Could you see the same happening on a feminists channel if she said she left the country to get away from Western men?

I really cannot see how you'd have your video deleted for that as I see very rough and nasty comments every day on Youtube (and by channel owners too).

Even if you were flagged, it would not go against Youtube's TOS because you are not actively/intentionally discriminating or making anything offensive (and I agree with you, move to Vietnam with your business/money and live the high life with their women, Western women are too brainwashed with Sex in the City bullcrap).

I have flagged videos due to some very nasty remarks in the video (e.g. in your face racism, explicit homophobia) and they still stand. In fact, as an example, there are penty of videos talking about how black men reject black women, and I'm talking of black men making videos saying how they love white women and hate guetto sistas with a passion; this is not racist but it certainly discrimates the women. These videos are from 2010/11 and get thousands of views (and likes, LOL).

Of course, there is a minor % the Youtube employee who reviewed your video after getting flagged is a feminazi who hasn't had sex since 10 years ago; then, it certainly is possible (and you got unlucky).

Thanks Bro, yes I really don't understand what it could be besides that in the description or the fact that I responded to the troll.
The troll said 'Did you film the video with a cake mixer?' because it was a bit shaky.... so I responded 'Whats a cake mixer? I get it you're trying to be funny, my sides are splitting' Now that reply was mild and can't be considered bully right?

But there was a dodgy comment left on the channel months ago which I deleted but is still showing in Google cache for the video...but surely Youtube can see deleted comments and distinguish them from live ones?

Other than that I can't think what it could be because video is just me and my girlfriend in a tourist spot, no talking, how is that hateful?

One reason I can think of is that you were recording people in the video (walkers passing by etc) and the place doesn't allow it, this is typical of Muslim countries and Israel. Or perhaps you happened to record/video a site that doesn't allow for filming. Someone who saw your video and knew this then flagged you and your video was correctly deleted. I'm just thinking out loud since you said you were on holiday and perhaps you didn't know the social rules there (happens a lot of times).

If I'm correct, Youtube always gives you a reason for deleting the video, did they provide any? I know the guys pimping Empower Network get their videos deleted all the time and they make a big hassle of it in the product google forums.

You could also post this in the products google forums by the way. They usually have someone knowledgeable answering replies and I've seen people getting an explanation for their wrong doing, sometimes even by G reps. If you go into the google forums, be super detailed, even tell them what your account is about etc

Yeah I tried Youtube forum and all I got told was wait for my Appeal to get the second review...and the original message I got was that the video had bullying or discrimination which I'm assuming was something other than the video

The video is in Walking Street Pattaya, its a big public street where everyone films... lots of videos of Walking Street on Youtube
