Free US phone number forwarding?

There are a lot of sites that come up searching this on google, does anyone have any experience with a service that gives you a free US phone number that forwards directly to your phone number?

Not looking for any VOIP stuff, just a straight forwarding service. Thanks

I use grandcentral (got it over a year ago). Its basically everything your looking for and is FREE. The only problem is idk how long its taking to get a number from them now. I just upgraded my account to Google Voice which I think they are starting to call it now....

You might want to look into that. Forward service and also if ppl call it and leave a message it goes to your email! You can record calls, get testimonials from the lines...etc.
