Is it worth to buy SSL cert for facebook viral app? My app ain't that bad it's decent, videos are fine with the function of autoposting on people's timeline upon connecting and then-after if i want to.

So if i buy an SSL and eventually get banned on fb then the app, domain and ssl all of them will be useless.

So you guys know any way of getting FREE SSL? i've seen many after googling but don't know if they are worth my time. So if you have came across any then please share or lemme know any cheap SSL incase you don't know any Free one. So far i saw this one coming to me, it's around 8$ per year for comodo package on namecheap.
    http://www.namecheap.com/ssl-certificates/comodo/positivessl-certificate.aspx

Btw i don't care about the security of my app so i won't even mind to have less secure free ssl.

    thanks !

You can create your own but I dont think Facebook would accept it -- might be worth a try though. Otherwise I havent seen any free ssl in a while, was looking the other day for one for an app as well. Good luck!

Pretty sure facebook wouldn't even know if you used a self signed certificate. It's the browsers that won't accept it.

With Hostgator shared hosting they have a Shared SSL cert that you can use for free. Works well with FB apps even after FB bans your domains. Do a google search for Hostgator free shared ssl and you'll get the details.

    Hope this helps...
