Free Music Downloads Question

Ok here is my question you know the places you can download free music from and trade them with other people if you download the server i think its like emule or donkey or something that.

Im wondering if it is possible to create a bunch of music files and let people around the world to download for free music? is that the same as a torrent or is this something different?

Torrents are the next level of stuff like eDonkey, eMule, LimeWire, etc.

People who use limewire or similar are only two kinds: Computer illiterate/don't know any better or PPI fools who target the first mentioned group.
