Yeah, this isn't newbie friendly and for lazy people, and honestly would take more effort than promoting CPA offers. If someone has never played this game then there is a really low chance to succeed at all with any of those steps. It's hard to find a good bot, and if you do end up finding one, you're going to be paying for a WoW sub $15 + the bot software which is usually a lot more than the sub + character boost. That's already a big investment for some newbies. Farming by hand will be a complete waste of time especially for a player who doesn't know anything about the game. Most spots you find in YouTube videos will be filled with people there already farming. Don't expect to earn much with just 1 character hand farming, obviously, you'll need multiple accounts controlled by a bot to make anything worth writing about.
Maybe arbitrage could work, but then anyone who hasn't played the game has to learn how to the handle the gold without getting flagged. Not saying it's a bad method though, lots of money to be made if you know what you're doing with the right software, but I wouldn't say it's for lazy people. If you're new, you're going to be baby sitting your bot most of the day. There are just too many variables you have to control at all times and it takes skill like in-game knowledge and bot managing to have it all running consistently. It's just not something you can set up in a day or two and expect to start making money from it.
I've played WoW on and off since 2004 and I've done this lots of times throughout the games life cycle and there's definitely money to be made there just keep in mind that it's not as easy as it looks.
