Hello, I'm really new here on BHW (as a registered member), but I've been keeping an eye for this forum for some time now! Some time ago I read an awesome post about scraping expired Tumblr blogs with Gscraper (blackhat-seo/blogging/596495-method-free-way-get-expired-tumblr-blogs.html) and after I tried it I got super excited: it was something easy, rewarding and cool like bitcoins! I was finding free PR4s very easily however they started accumulating and it got very hard for me generating content to all of them. The thought of creating a simple bot with WinAutomation run through my head. However in the meantime Google was on to me: I was using only one Tumblr account and leaving a massive footprint. Something better occurred to me - why not do the same thing with 301 redirects instead? It involved much less work and seemed very promising until I discovered that no free service allows that! Finally I found out that most URL shorteners use 301 redirects so I sought for one with the option to delete links, scraped it until I pissed off Google, registered some high PR expired links (with title) to my website and pinged them. My question is the following: is this going to work or am I just wasting time? Update (positive results): - One of the shorten URLs was picked up by ahrefs in less than 12h as a "redirect"; - It's a PR3 and has 24 backlinks from top-level domains; - These backlinks still stand so the shorten URL won't lose ranking; - The ranking is theoretically associated with my website (301). What I'm trying to say is that 24 websites have links to my website (I checked). How cool is that!
