If a man lives long enough...

Olive Garden in Times Square charging $400 for New Year's Eve tickets

Olive Garden in Times Square may be a deal on a regular weeknight, but on New Years Eve, the chain is putting on the Ritz.

For $400, partygoers can enjoy an Olive Garden buffet, open bars and a DJ, according to the New York Post.

The Italian-themed chain is just one of a handful of restaurants in Times Square charging hundreds of dollars for a chance to dance the night away a few blocks from where the ball drops, according to New York show tickets.

While some may shake their head at the idea of spending $400 to ring in the New Year at Olive Garden; the price tag is worth it, Jessica Parkin told the Huffington Post.

Parkin, who rang in 2014 at the Olive Garden in Times Square, told the Post people were ?desperately trying" to scalp tickets beforehand.

"From the Olive Garden you couldn't see the main stage or the ball drop, but around 11:40 p.m. we were taken through the back door to the Olive Garden and onto the streets in our own gated section where you could see the ball drop and be part of all the action. It was perfect," she told The Huffington Post.

Maybe easy access to a bathroom and an open bar is worth it.

That actually is a deal, considering the average Times Square visitor on NYE has to arrive a minimum of 12 hours earlier in the day for a chance at a good spot. If you get one, you have to sit on it basically or you'll lose it (and it's cold as f**k in Times Square)
Food and drinks are a fortune, bathroom lines average 2 hours and it's likely by midnight your breath smells like ass so your lucky to even get a kiss from the girl, much less some NYE lovin. That being said, there's nothing like the experience and the buzz of NYC.

Do they take gift cards? I received about ten Olive Garden gift cards for Christmas. I don't even eat at Olive Garden.

"The New York Marriott Marquis has 100 guest rooms, plus 10 suites, that have direct views of the ball drop. The hotel starts to get calls as early as January 1 for the following New Year's, too early to even book a room. The hotel starts a waiting list until the details are determined towards the middle of the year. If you can't book a room with a view, there is also a party in the hotel's Broadway Lounge, which overlooks Times Square and the ball drop. Prices start at $950 per person for the 2013 party, up to $3,500 per person for a direct view of the ball drop."

New Years Eve in Vegas is way more fun. Also it's not cold as f**k in Vegas so you can enjoy the fireworks that they shoot off up and down the strip. You still might lose your spot if you go to the nearest beer truck for a beer, but there's still a spot to see the fireworks and grab some ass.

well, i prefer not to do anything special on New Year's Eve, we go clubbing the day before it, it's a kind of tradition, what's so special about it anyway?! this mandatory partying on New Year's Eve makes me go nuts, there are other 364 days of the year for that, at least for us who don't do the 9-5 rat race :)

this year for instance, i'm doing a very low budget New Year's Eve, i'll go hiking with my buddies, no fucks will be given and just to top that, i truly hate champagne, btw i think last year i was at home sleeping lol

but i guess others will enjoy their $400 Olive Garden night or a lot more expensive happening elsewhere and i have no problem with that

Totally agree with you, even in my younger days New Years Eve always felt a let down. Don't know if it was because I was clubbing it 24/7 but it never felt anything special and felt like people were forcing themselves to have a good time. If you can't enjoy yourself having a rave on a normal night then why even bother with NYE. Rather stay in and smoke crack.

Sounds like an absolute ripoff to me.. I may have to file a ripoffreport on them!

wooooooooooo NYE party at the olive garden!!!!!!!!!!!!

I guess it comes down to what is your time worth. The open bar bit would be pretty good though.

it is still the Olive Garden.

I used to live up in the NYC area and go there on a regular basis for vacation/travel recreation and love the city but OG is not anywhere I would go up there, or really, any other time.

You can't beat the atmosphere and life infusing energy of New York despite the dollars you are going to lay out in my opinion, nor can you beat the eclectic opportunities of entertainment at any price.

OG at 400.00?

Nah, can't be done no matter what the amenities offered.

That's crazy. It would be one thing if the food was exquisite, but it's Olive Garden..

In the country I'm in right now, with U$ 400 you'll eat, drink and fuck 10 prostitutes and still have a ton of cash left for tomorrow.
