What would be a resonable fee to pay someone to post on a forum?

I wanted to do some forum marketing to promote a product. I want people with established accounts at big forums (not this one!!) to "talk" about my product in thier general everyday chat when on the forum.

What would be a good fee to pay? I was thinking $20 for 40 posts? i.e. 50cent a post?

That's a bit much. It depends on a few factors.

    1. Of course English skill level.
    2. Length of posts.
    3. Some freelancers may even try to trick you and backlink other sites at the same time.

So when hiring, you're going to need to lay down every last detail. $0.50 per post is ideal for 50+ words from a US writer. From a 3rd world country, and for 10+ words, $0.05 usually cuts it.

    Thanks mate.

Yeah i'd only want US, Canada or UK writers and forums. I'd want people that already have established accounts at those mentioned forums though, that is going to be the hard part!

It also depends on what you're trying to promote, since you're basically buying access to that person's reputation. If they say said product is cool, etc, it may have an impact on their reputation.

Yeah, well the product is cool :) seriously though, its nothing warmful or unethical so the poster would need to worry. Its mainly going to be used to create a buzz.

Usually the rate varies from 25 cents to 10 cents if the posters are not much experienced.

If you want people with respectable accounts on certain forums, you're going to have to pay slightly more. Also, people with respectable accounts will want to review what they're promoting before they start promoting it -- you know, to protect their rep and all. The rate honestly varies depending on several different factors.
