Brother man, Sir Mark of Dude, in the cosmic game of cat and mouse, the mice will always win.

Every major online presence is against this as far as I know (Mozilla, Google, Facebook, ebay) so, honestly, this screams of diversionary tactics. This will probably get escalated and passed through committees to eventually fail with the success of having clogged up a lot of judicial/legislative time and keeping the attention of people.

It's a bit like the Penn State case when yesterday Obama at 5am CST gave a speech in Australia talking about putting a base there with 250 to eventually 2500 Marines, and clearly cited China as a reason. But it's all Penn State on the News...

If you think the various Occupy movements are bad now, imagine the hell storm that would be unleashed if people were cut off from communicating. Not only will the protests be unmonitored to see the abuses of the police, the protesters themselves will not be held accountable that no one is watching them.

Frankly, I think this internet thing is aimed aggressively at China

Thanks for you input on this subject. I've just recently started working full time online and I'm trying to become more aware of what's actually taking place online, there are a few threads that are getting a lot of attention on here about this matter and so I placed my vote this morning and as you can see created this thread at the same time.

Based on what you said, as well as others, I feel confident that I do not have to worry.
