I have my own small network setup and now I'm just exploring ideas and linkbuilding strategies to make sure they hold their PR and eventually increase. With the new updates I'm not totally sure what is working anymore for this purpose so I figured I'd get some input from those of you that have your own networks setup.

I know maintaining and increasing PR requires a different strategy than increasing serp rankings and since most of the threads here and SEO tactics I have been studying are more based on how to increase rank, I'm not sure where to start with this one.

Are high PR blog comments still good? Can I just build a handful of web 2.0s or article directory links to each one (20 or so) and then hammer those with links?

I'd like to hear your thoughts.

    Thanks.

I build manual web 2.0 for 1st tier, then hammer those with high PR blogs, web 2.0, etc
I don't do anymore blog commenting directly to
    site

Thanks for the response man. Is there any particular service you use for your high pr blogs/web 2.0s in the 2nd tier?

I've just started using linkpushing directly to moneysite and inner pages.
Look at veheme's pogiboys for some manual web 2.0 to build directly to moneysite. I usually blast those tier 1 with my own senuke and scrapebox. Could also use backlink banzai to blast your tier 1 links. Also look at meme's high PR blog comments to give PR to your tier 1. I've also used linkaloha to build backlinks to different tiers.
Basically, I'm building less backlinks to main site, but building more and more to the lower tiers- I think this is what most are doing.

    Hope this helps

Veheme's service looks really nice. I'm gonna have to give that one a shot for sure. I've heard of Backlink Banzai too but from the sales page it looks like you can only hit 20 different URLs/keyword sets per month. If I were using Backlink Banzai to pump up my 1st tiers, I would probably need more than that since 20 URLs would only be enough to hit the tier 1 on like 1 site.

Or are you saying you use BB pointed directly at your high PR network sites?

But does pointing web 2.0s at your private network of sites really help maintain their PR? Wouldn't you need some kind of steady stream of high PR links pointed at your private sites in order to keep their PR high?

Yeah that's what I was thinking too but I think the objective is to get the web 2.0s to increase their PR as well and then you will have a good amount of high PR links pointing at your network sites.
