Get out and talk to people. Go out and find people that have relevant interests. If you are smart, go to barnes and noble bookstore. Or try other places like yoga centers; sign up for some classes. Sign up for a painting class at a local craft store or something. If a sports person/athlete go find people at a park or recreational sports facility.

If you're making money from home, then just go buy some.:D

    Nah...

    - Join a club or something.
    - Go talk to your neighbor.
    - Always plenty of people to talk to at the pub or nightclubs.

Social sport's teams, hobby clubs, charities etc are probably the easiest way. Conferences and trade shows work too if you are looking for networking opportunities.

I think it's deff hard to make some new friends when you work from home and are doing this all the time and are married with a kid. but luckily the friends I do have are awesome and they are all doing IM to. So you can imagine when we all get together all we talk about is IM.

last weeks monday, party, drunken & puke, free.
last saturday, go out have a beer, and go to stripclub with friends, for free, drunken again.
yesterday, bowling, and be drunken again, free yet again.
while doing all this, getting 100's banked, priceless!

This is a good idea but it's also nice to have local friends that you can do actually do things with and go places with.

These are all great ideas... thanks

This is good too. I would feel like a loser having to resort to meeting people on-line tho. It would feel kind of weird/awkward to meet them in person and then just start conversing.

Ummm no one invites me to party and I don't feel like being drunk and puking by myself.

I live on the beach so I just go to one of the resort bars or go on the beach and make conversation with the tourists. :)
