I'm currently testing the value of nofollow links by adding only them to one of my domains. Right now I have 80 PR 1-7 nofollow backlinks (mostly non edu/gov), and have my site ranked #8 on google with a PR of 2. The keyword phrase gets 9000 local searches with no competition.

Nofollow links add to your pagerank, that's a well-known fact.
And you can see all the sites that are linking in, in Google Webmaster Tools.

I think Nofollow is only good for link diversity and didn't help link juice, when i check nofollow/do-follow ratio for my websites, the ones having a good do-follow ratio ranks faster and better. This from my experience.

Totally sick of people ragging on nofollow. It's not even worth talking about any more, cause it means jack shit! Nice work on the proof ;)

I guess the only way to know is by testing it, which i am about to do on a source i just found. It's a AA somewhat authoritative blog that has no comments at all and some posts have PR.

Yep, Google and other search engines are moving more and more towards discounting the nofollow tag. Wikipedia links ftw!
