For those still having problems using GMail's Vacation Responder

For some reason, Google doesn't seem interested in fixing this bug.. Odd.

Anyway, here's what you have to do:

1. Go into your GMail Settings, under the General tab.
2. Type your responder subject and message (do not turn the autoresponder on)
3. Save these settings.
4. Return to the Vacation Responder settings, and turn it on.
5. That's it, it should work! Hope this helps someone

I found this out a few months ago but didn't think to tell anyone..

No problem! Oh, another quick tip:

If you leave the subject blank, it will automatically reply with the sender's subject, making it seem like a MUCH more realistic reply. (ie, "Re: Original Subject")
