Last barbeques of the year before the dreaded snow comes. I hope you all have a happy Labor Day weekend. Be safe. Don't drink and drive. Enjoy the long weekend and relax. Post what you're eating if you're having a picnic. I'm having chicken, potato salad, corn on the cob, green salad, deviled eggs, and homemade chocolate cream pie.

    Yummy.

I'm doing a couple racks of baby back ribs, 12" pork & beef frankfuters, black angus burgers with a bit of steak rub (my brothers friend is a butcher and gets the best angus I've ever tasted) + string beans, cauliflower w / goat cheese & corn.

Then last but not least I'm doing a special plate of fried lobster rice. My mother made this stuff for her b-day a couple weeks ago and OH MY FREAKN GOD it is the best rice I've ever eaten in my life. I could live on this stuff if it wasn't so fattening. You thaw out the lobster (I'm using 3), crack open the shells and let the lobster juice drain into the rice. Then you add water, olive oil, butter (a lot of butter), fresh garlic, chopped scallions, some sea salt, then stir and bake till the rice starts to turn gold. Right before the rice is finished you add the lobster chunks (I used a small electric chopper), stir, and let it cook for another 10 minutes.

For anyone who likes fish, you NEED to try out fried lobster rice. I've tried fried octopus rice before which was good but nowhere close to fried lobster rice. Plus it's a very unique dish so you can surprise your friends & family with it. :p

That's why I live in Houston, we get snow a few times a decade here.

We will spend the weekend up at my family's place in Cut N Shoot and shoot skeet all weekend.

Brisket, deer sausage, and fried turkey with all the trimmings topped off with pecan pie and yams.

If the government knew how good it was they would tax it.
