Over half of the threads in "The Shit List" are people getting scammed because they send a "friends and family" payment using paypal. Follow this basic rule and you will greatly reduce your chances of being scammed. NEVER EVER EVER SEND AS FRIENDS AND FAMILY TO PEOPLE YOU DONT TRUST. If someone tells you "paypal doesn't let me recieve business payments" or "something is wrong with business payments" and then asks you to send as personal, block them instantly. THERE IS NO REASON someone can't receive payments sent as goods. Paypal occasionally takes away receiving personal payments, but they never limit receiving payments as "goods" unless they fully limit your account. Any legitimate seller will accept non-personal payments. Stay safe!
