Wow the defination of zero backlinks just changed hilarious
Yes, absolutely true. But, let's say you ranked a website for 15k+ keywords and you are getting 20k+ traffic, and you did this by focusing on content, and zero link building. Give me a reason as to how you are safe (let's say that Google updates are not a problem)? There are journeys on BHW who were able to make it without making backlinks, so we know it's doable.
In my experience, one good backlink is worth more than 20+ articles. Just my personal experienceIt depends on niche, keyword comp., domain authority, optimized content & internal links works well. Getting links always help to rank![]()
People on journey discussions were able to bring their websites to 500.000 visitors per month and $10.000/month with 0 backlinksYes, absolutely true. A moat is required for you to sustain. For example - Your site's DA is 5 (you got some random spam links that everyone gets, and that's why your DR is now 5 somehow, but it isn't holding any "real authority backlinks"), and your competitors aren't the most powerful domains but still, they have a 30-50 good links and their DR is around 30. Don't you think that they can just steal your keywords and rank above you? It's not the problem of ranking, the real issue is maintaining that ranking.
Most of the people who buy auction domains are known for going after their weak competition and stealing their keywords, heck, that's what I do as well.![]()
Okay, I may have missed that. Can you please link that IM journey? Is it the AI content or the SPAM site journey?People on journey discussions were able to bring their websites to 500.000 visitors per month and $10.000/month with 0 backlinks
Read @Kikerinka thread, 0 backlinks built, last month his website got 740,845 visits and he made $20,712.Okay, I may have missed that. Can you please link that IM journey? Is it the AI content or the SPAM site journey?

I don't disagree but that's not a practical in my opinion.People on journey discussions were able to bring their websites to 500.000 visitors per month and $10.000/month with 0 backlinks
I am not saying backlinks are worthless, I know backlinks boost your rankings.I don't disagree but that's not a practical in my opinion.
I build a website to rank & bank and chances of ranking are less without building links.
Backlinks are important and with millions and trillions of websites out there chances are less to be found and if you are not found you won't get that mention (White hat one).
Majority of webmasters lack time or resources or both to follow no backlinks path.
A joke. You can't go anywhere with just 'good' content if the competition is stiff.
You cannot maintain rank with zero links. You might say they didn't buy any links but the sites attracted some links.People on journey discussions were able to bring their websites to 500.000 visitors per month and $10.000/month with 0 backlinks
Yes, but the tweet on this thread is talking about HARO links and guest posts, which you either buy or manually build. You cannot maintain rank with zero links. You might say they didn't buy any links but the sites attracted some links.
No site stays as high as that without attracting competitors who are ready to spend on links.
You might want to ask them to check their link profile to confirm this.
You cannot maintain high ranking with absolutely zero links. It doesn't matter if you pay out of pocket for it or not. Furthermore, acquiring the right links the right way would hasten the process for you.Yes, but the tweet on this thread is talking about HARO links and guest posts, which you either buy or manually build.
their link profiles are often awful, mostly crawlers/bots and spam sites making backlinks. @Alma Chime inYou cannot maintain rank with zero links. You might say they didn't buy any links but the sites attracted some links.

It seems you are missing my point. The tweet clearly states that 'people who say they rank without building backlinks are lying' and 'you can't rank with only content'. THAT IS NOT TRUE. I have seen a lot of people rank their websites with 0 backlinks build and only focusing on publishing content on long tail keywords. You cannot maintain high ranking with absolutely zero links. It doesn't matter if you pay out of pocket for it or not. Furthermore, acquiring the right links the right way would hasten the process for you.
There's no argument for zero links strategy if you could afford to pay for links. It makes absolutely no sense.
