So like many people i'm a huge fan of club football, one of the most interesting points are the summer transfer windows and winter transfer windows. Trying to see what ultra-secretive football clubs players are going to be bought or sold.
I noticed something weird going on used by professional sites, they would create content linking players to club every single day of the transfer window and weekly outside of it.
So at most top clubs would sign 8 players in a window, they would create a new rumour every day of the transfer window. That's 84 players, impossible for that many to happen but because fans are interested they still CONSUME the content.
What makes this interesting is because each player is unique, they can continuously generate long string keywords which people are organically searching for.
" First name, Last name transferring to Club name."
Also if these rumours getting going(regardless of truth) Football fans are always keen to discuss or debate the rumours. In a way in can create something rare for a site, word of mouth traffic.

We can these rumours have hyper increased for this specific search term

And here's the juicy part, during this period of time on the official club website they normally have a media watch blog for the best ( NON-FACTUAL) rumours.

You can see in a short period of time how something that isn't currently true has been pushed in a short period of time. If you could ctach hyper traffic continuously on a site, wouldn't this be an easily profitable site?
