Food blog niche, is it the worst niche in the AI era?

Hey everyone. I haven't much experience with blogging and actually i am a newbie and i have been studying for more than 7 months and I had made the decision to start a food blog.

But a friend of mine, who has some blogging experience ,told me that the food blogging niche is one of the worst niches in the future due to AI such as ChatGPT, Bard, GSE, or Magi
He told me when MS, google and IBM Watson have been laying off thousands people because of AI, what a food blogger can do!!
and no one need to go to the food blogs and AI give the recipe easily . and no one can defeat the interaction of AI even if you have awesome content .
I want you to know your opinions about that. do you think its a bad niche in the AI era too? is it worth to start a food blog ?

Honestly, as long as you have good solid content or recipes to share, you should be good to go. Most like to learn from other real people who share a real passion for cooking :). Build your audience, get that personal touch in. Look at all those recipe videos on YouTube still making bank ;)

Thanks pal. but I think YouTube is another story and have their own audience . i am talking only about blog for now.
so you think food blog can have a good chance in the AI era? especially if AI image creators can produce food realistic images in the future?
 
Well, I won't say no, as AI made alot of things easy & competitive, but your content can't be copied right as it is human made content. Also the way you represent it maybe through videos, & pictures, gives a meaningful impact on a viewer's point of view.
 
Lmao does someone genuinely think all those layoffs were because of "AI"?
That's just fear mongering.

Only IBM made a statement about it and they just wanted an excuse to do mass-layoffs.

OpenAI has 100 milliom users. There are 5.3 billion people on the internet, 4.8 of which who use Google. There's still a huge population out there who doesn't know or care about chatGPT. Don't believe me? Just go outside and ask some folks if they have heard of chatGPT. Not everyone needs to be on the next tech fad. Your friend is just part of a very loud minority.

Honestly, unless you are a professional chef with a team of photographers, writers, content editors, social media managers and seo specialists, it's hard to take it to the "worth it" level. The days of small mom blogs making it big just with organic traffic are over. If you still want to try niche down aggressively, choose some food category restricted to some region (like conteninental starters, or Italian main courses) and only write for those.
 
food niche Blog is difficult to rank because of high competitive. Try anything different particularly, any products instead of receipes
 
It is not the worst niche. If you have interest in this niche, it can be good profit wise also. You need to plan seo strategy as well.

1. from what you said I understand that there is no worry about the AI which can even directly have been put in the SERPs. and the genuine concern is the competitiveness of the food niche, am I right?

2. do you think if I start a food blog that covers only a specific country's cuisine there is still a chance for success albeit high competition in the food niche?
 
in my opinion food niche is very good niche. Because it's forever green niche. never ending so do not discourage because about your friend opinion. I'm really like food niche also I have 6 Million views and 13k followers food niche one. its amazing niche. I think you have to reconsider your friend opinion pal.

Blogs are still needed IMO. AI is dominant, but the average person doesn't use AI for that purpose. I think Insta/Tiktok is taking over the recipes IMO and if you can build a nice following for niche recipes.
 
AI blogging may not be the best fit if a blog targets a specific audience that requires more customized content.
 
for food blogs you also need great pictures , AI wont provide that , yet
 
Food blogs are more than recipes. Recipes is just one sub niche. It's a low monetization niche though, so you need lots and lots of content. A traditional blogger simply can't compete ai, so you friend need to adopt to what's coming ahead.
 
Try the travel niche if you think the food niche is bad enough for AI if you won't run along.
 
food blog niche is very good if your blog is unique and attractive..
 
I think food niche is difficult to rank due to high competition
