Followliker - Unfollow/Follow Settings

Hey, quick question
Is it safe to follow and unfollow on the same day?
Can I follow 500-600 people a day and unfollow 500-600 the next day without getting banned ( account is made one year ago and active since!
Or is it better to follow 500-600 each day and unfollow 1000-1200 every second day?

I think most people follow up to 7.5k, and then wait a few days and then unfollow
