Folder/directory or file (html/php/etc) for use as the keyword naming page?

Greetings.

I had a conversation with a friend yesterday and a question was raised for which I did not know the answer. Lets say I have a keyword called "some keyword goes here" that I want to rank for. Is there any advantage of naming the file/webpage as either:

1. mysite.com/some-keyword-goes-here.html

or

2. mysite.com/some-keyword-goes-here (with index.[html/php/shtml/etc] as the page)

Thoughts?
