Because they SCREWED me. Or at least screwed with my mind. FML!!!!!
I had weightloss.tv in my fricking shopping cart, took ten minutes to research the .tv tld and write a question to post here about it, decided, "Aw screw it" and went to pull the trigger -- only to find out that the domain was no longer available. I had it in my %$# shopping cart....

10 minutes later. Jesus, I can't believe I hesitated. I could have JV'd with every person on this forum and still made money...
    #$&^%$#@!

Someone tell me this was an error on namecheaps account, tell me I didn't screw up that badly, and that it really wasn't available....

Must have been a glitch because weightloss.tv was one of the first .tv domains purchased (I remember the frenzy for .tv's and weightloss was one of the top querys)

Same general thing happened to me with GoDaddy. I left it a bit longer than you did, a couple hours if I remember correctly, but same freaking thing. I lost some really great .coms. We brainstormed a few dozen domainss once I found about 20 available I couldn't reach my partner to confirm. By the time I went back in a couple hours later only 2 were left. It didn't used to be like that but it happens more and more lately. There isn't anywhere that I trust to do name searches. They always get stolen if I don't buy as soon as I check

These days when I have an Idea I don't even do a domain search until I'm 100% ready to buy. Then I verify and buy immediately.

Sorry for your loss man! That was a great one

    Looks like a mistake

But why would you take a screenshot before you bought it?

Happened today so it must have been an error. I was doing keyword searches for weigh loss related domains in namecheap when I came across that. I had the shopping cart still open in a firefox tab, while ran a few searches in other tabs on the value of .tv tlds's (they apparently suck), and transferred money into my namecheap account in another tab, then I went to buy it in the original tab (figured I could cash in with the help of people on this forum), and I got that last message when I tried to make the purchase go through. I used the "go back one page" navigation arrow in firefox to grab the screenshots when I couldn't get namecheaps whois function to work and my ass began to hurt when I realized how badly I was screwed.

I have been researching/buying domains all morning, planning my next years strategy and decided to run with massive white-hat niche sites and use subdomains to focus on longtail keywords as sub-projects. A weight loss site just made sense, regardless of the .tv TLD. So now I have $20 sitting in my namecheap account for no good reason. I will hold off on buyng anything else today because I'm so pissed, I don't want to make any (more) bad decisions.

looks like you would have gotten an error had you purchased right away.

nothing you did to loose it.

yeah, still ticked me off. So much that, against my better judgement, I bought (deleted).com - will be working the subdomain angle there.
