    Hi Blackhatters,

I'm going to sell a site of flippa.com soon.

Can anyone tell me what is the best duration of the auction to sell?

Also, is it recommended that you use paypal if your site is under a certain value? What is that value?

    Happy Hols

So how do people find your auction?

I presumed it was a bit like ebay, and people look at the ending soonest/most active stuff.

900 days? That's almost two and a half years.

Who would even bother bidding until the auction was close to the end? Early bidders would move on, long before the end of the auction.

    900 days? are you serious?

I think 3-5 days is a good time frame but I would like to get more opinions from experienced site flippers

@OP: What I've discovered is that 3 to 5 days is optimal - however, every now and then I make my auctions last only a day. BillyRayValentine is absolutely correct saying that most people look at 'most active' and 'ending soon' auctions - I haven't run the exact numbers but off the top of my head I think I've gotten about 85% of all bids within the last 6 hours of my auctions (mind you, Flippa automatically extends auctions by 4 hours if a bid is placed during the last 4 hours so this 'last 6 hours' can - and usually does - stretch into several days ;))

@dishnetboi: Don't drink that much during the Holidays :p

I make mine last for 30 days, see if there's any general interest. Then I usually lower it to 1 to 5 days.

My site is currently up for a 14 day period. I think this gives people time to consider their options and contact the seller with any questions or doubt prior to bidding, with a smaller time scale they may not see your reply and you have lost yourself a bidder.

I'd like to know what is the best day to launch or end the auction - when the buyers would be most active? And at what time of the day, the buyers are most active?
