Flea market?

So basically i was at my flee market this weekend and there was a rent sign on one of the stalls. 8 foot by 8 foot stall, $600 a month, and it's only open on weekends, btw i live in Toronto Canada. Benefits of the flee market are no tax. As well i will need some else to help me sell/ security i can get a guy for $7.50 a hr. The flea market in Toronto they get about 30,000 to 50,000 people come each weekend, i just need something eye catching and cheap.

Know what i need help on, what should i sell and where do i get it. All help will be appreciated.

Cheap artwork. I remember buying a few oil paintings online for like $10. They look nice & people will buy them. Include that with selling some cheap good looking frames & I bet you have a money maker.
 
Why not sell food?? 30k to 50k people, there have gota be some hungry people in there! Sell them hotdogs, burgers, cokes etc???
 
stupid small things you can buy in bulk online. goofy looking pens/pencils, funny stickers, etc. Small stuff.
 
Replica sunglasses bought in bulk and marked up like $5 per pair. If it's sunny especially, people will buy a lot of them.
 
I like the sunglasses idea, i should look into it thanx.
 
I used to have a retail store in the mall, so I researched tons of different ideas. Sunglasses are actually a really great item to sell and sell well year round, as long as the market you are in is not already saturated with Sunglass vendors. I sold makeup in the mall. That probably wouldn't go over as well in a flea market. Fragrances could be great, too. Silver jewlery as well.
 
All great idea's, what do you guys think of belts?
 
cheap womens shoes.. they cost about $5-12/pair retail.. sell for 15-20

Ok, some things to remember about selling at a flee market:

1. try and sell things that people can easily carry. DUHH
2. look for things that cater to the ladies. Go to flee markets and check
out the clientele and you will see mostly ladies.
3. find items under $100. Most people that shop there (flee markets) tend
to bring that on average.
4. cooked food items are tricky and require permits in most areas


Just a few things for the OP or whoever else...
 
I know in the states they have stores called "Dollar Tree" As the name applies, all of their stuff is $1. You can purchase items online now in bulk for $1 each (or less depending on quantities I believe) and then sell items like that in your booth. Never know, maybe get your own catalog together for low priced items.

You might be able to find something like that if you cant use the Dollar Tree. Setup a booth selling low priced items like that. People are always looking for ways to save money for the every day items they use.
 
In my area, the flea market has a monopoly on food. I guess, since it sells well, the food vendors are supplied only by the flea market itself. But, in addition to whatever else you are selling, you could include a coupon for a free ......(fill in the blank with your CPA offer), and have them go to your site to redeem it or get more information.
 
i used to do this in my local flea market yrs ago...here in sunny california... sell cheap posters of bob marley, scar face, Ernesto Che Guevara...fancy cars like Porsche & Lamborghini...rasti fari, chicano+mexican brown pride, basically any minority pride figure... like malcom X, and so on... these all fit the local demographics... dnt know if these will fit in canada demographics...???
