I want to start a community, but I've many concerns. Flarum and Discourse are free and basically the obvious choice.

Discourse requires a VPS, so I have to spend an extra $10 there. I am willing to spend this amount, but I am a complete noob at Linux server management. I can use DigitalOcean's own Discourse install, but if I want to install another site on the same server, then it makes things harder for a non-coder like me.

Flarum can be installed on Cloudways. I am already using Cloudways, so that makes things convenient. But the last time I used Flarum in 2020, it was very unstable and lacked a lot of features.

Xenforo can be installed on any PHP server, but it's very costly. $150 for one forum. It will be $300 if I want 2 forums and so on.

Now I have expressed all my concerns. I would really appreciate if any expert helps me make a choice. I need the easiest path for a particular forum. Discourse is very powerful, but a non-coder like me can find it very hard to handle. So consider all these things.

Thank you

How much is your traffic?
by saying $10 extra, you don't mean $15 for example, right?
You can get Contabo VPS (8 RAM, 200GB SSD & 4 cores for $7 per month) or any VPS from the marketplace for much less price and it will work just fine

There are plenty of people sharing the nulled version and it works just fine & always updated. I'm using one myself for a couple of years and never had a problem.
if you don't have the budget at the start & want to actually pay, just get a nulled version, then when you're comfortable, you can pay

But overall, in my opinion regarding these forum softwares, it really depends on the addons and features you want them to be added to your forum since some of them are somehow limited in such addons (like xenforo)

For Discourse, I don't think the installation should be that hard, just need to install Docker at first and a couple of commands to install the forum, here are some easy couple of guides

Take a look at IPB & Phphfusion as well ;)

Discourse. It's a great solution. If you install discourse through docker, it should be perfectly possible to have another site on that same server. However, it can be very difficult to modify, depending on your experience in rails. As for difficulties in maintaining, any forum isn't easy to run. You need to be technically sound to do it right.

Where can I find it? Any reliable seller who provides safe nulled copy without actually infecting your site with malware or hacking it.

Since I lack that technical expertise, I think Discourse is not an ideal solution for me :)

The problem is not the budget, it is that I don't know how to handle cloud VPS. I can install Xenforo on my existing Cloudways server. But the problem arises in the case of Discourse.
you really don't have to worry :)
you can find plenty of guides and forum posts about 95% of the problems online
