I hope that title/question makes sense to people. I can try to clarify if it doesn't. I'd like to use separate instances for extra control. Eg.
From 12pm-6pm Follow
From 6pm-10pm Unfollow

But I worry that this will affect two things if I separate the functions.
1. Will "Unfollow After X number of days" work properly?
2.Will Follow function wind up following the same users because the Blacklist is on the other instance?

Also

3. How does "Follow users who follow X account work"? Does it go down the list of users chronologically, randomly, alphabetically?
4. Does it start over from the top of the list when the list has been exhausted?

I know it's a lot. I imagine that some of the inner workings of FL are not known to most users. Thanks!

I can only answer your 2nd and 4th question, because i don't have my FL with me anymore, working from memories. :)
2nd: I'm pretty sure, that every instance writes and loads the same blacklist file, so you won't wind up following the same users. It would be pretty chaotic otherwise.
4th: I think no, the process stops when a list is exhausted.

Awesome! Thanks so much. I honestly wasn't sure if anyone would know.

IG uses immediate mass unfollowing after very recent mass following as criterion for PVA/ban, OP. Always wait at LEAST 3-4 hours after following before you start unfollowing. Personally, I'm going to set whole days apart for unfollowing once I get to that stage.

Wow, thanks for letting me know. I had no idea. Does that mean wait 3-4 hrs before doing ANY unfollowing at all or 3-4 hrs before unfollowing a user that was just followed? I had heard that some people go as far as running follow/unfollow functions simultaneously provided that the "Unfollow After" be set to at least 3-7 days. Is that bad advice?

when I hit the 7500 follow limit, I'll start unfollowing/following with the same ratio at the same time, works well for me for the past few weeks without pva/ban.

Interesting. My main issue is that my followers are all clients/potential clients. I don't want them to see radical changes in the number of people I follow. Ideally the Following number on my profile would float around 1000 consistently even though I'm running the following and unfollowing functions. Any advice is welcome.

You can follow 1,2 days till you are following 1000 people, than unfollow 1,2 days till you reach 0.

None of this will work, unless you run both tasks in the same instance, and use Global settings. If you use separate settings, it's a headache exporting/importing data from the follow task to the unfollow task and vice-versa.

Thanks colorme. That's what I was worried about.
