So today I just got an email from Fiverr saying they've reached 2 million gigs on the site. This info was interesting to me but what was more interesting to me was the part below that that said a gig is purchased every 6 seconds (attachment attached )

I did some math (yippee):

Fiverr earns \$1 every sale.
24 hours in a day = 1440 minutes in a day = 86400 seconds in a day.

Divide 86400 by 6 (because a sale is made every 6 seconds) and you get 14400. Multiply by 1 (for those that have forgotten all their high school education) because they make a dollar each sale and you come with... \$14400!

Every. Single. Day.

Now, they did mention in this little infographic that it only took them a year to get from 1 million gigs to 2 million gigs.

Multiple 14,400 by 365 and you get = \$5,256,000 a year being made off of your gigs. Imagine a year or two down the road for Fiverr.

Yes it sure is a money spinner...

But the caveat is that they got at least two rounds of funding and one was at least \$10 Million USD...

So it is not all profit the loans have to be paid back some way even if it is in shares et al

This all goes to dilute the profits...

They used to make \$100k++/day in V1 before the update. The orders are much more than 14k day and also don't forget the extras.
For each \$5 in the extras there is a -\$1 fee.

Fiverr got 2 rounds of funding, in the first one \$5M, in the second \$15M.
It's part of the game, without those money they wouldn't be able to grow so rapidly... My personal guess is they still own over 60% of company, which is still good...

That is a beastly income. Imagine the profits without the endless dupes of the site. Would be interesting to do a review on what impact they have on Fiverr itself.

Micro freelancing could be taken in so many different directions, I can see their new V2 site being VERY beneficial over the next year or so. (for them)

Very impressive.

Well the actual profit can only be determined after covering up the funding they received like steelballs said. So if they received \$10M and they earn \$5M, it will take them 2 years to actually start making a profit.

And that's not including interest.. even if it wasn't a loan and was shares, and say they still own 60% it would take them over 3 years if they stay on the same rate of \$5mil a year

Then the \$5mil won't all be profits.. although i wish i was earning that!

Fiverr is a good site, and has saved me a nice amount of money over the years. Have been stung once or twice too unfortunately.

Also remember around \$0.30 of each sale will go to paypal so it is not all profit. They could have a custom deal but they will still be paying a huge chunk to them.

Salaries for team members (A+ players cost something), marketing (cost a lot).

they are making way more then 14k/day, just think of the gig extras, some sellers got 100\$ extras, which turns into 25\$ for fiverr, just from 1 order.

i think their daily income is in the 20-30k range.
