As a part of my daily "tasks" (surfing the techcrunch and venturebeat, 2 great sites) i found that fiverr will get another round of funding - 15 Million $ ! Holy fiverr...
What features can add fiverr to it's platform to make it even more awesome ?
P.S: want to make millions ? get into "start-ups" ;)
p.p.s: what you think about http://gigbucks.com i see their ads everyday all over the web. is it possible to be the 2nd fiverr with a lot of advertising?
Did you know that the owner of gigbucks refused to sell the website ?! This mean that he is making a lot of $$$

    "
The company, founded by Shai Wininger and Kaufman, has grown 600% in transaction volume since the beginning of 2011 and currently employs more than 40 people in Israel, the U.S. and Europe.
?Our vision is to turn Fiverr into the eBay for the service economy,? says Kaufman.

The new funding will be used for global expansion, product development and hiring. Fiverr plans to double its team by the end of 2012."

Some of the funding came from Bessemer Venture Partners? That's really cool. One of my former university professors who taught one of my finance courses is currently a partner at that firm :)

Haha yeah... I should ask him for start-up capital when I come up with a great idea and need a few million $ capital :D
Or may be ask for a job at his firm... Although I wouldn't mention that I've been selling some spammy blog comment backlinks on his new investment, Fiverr ;)

That's crazy! I always knew Fiverr was big, but I didn't know they had 40 people employed. $15 million is a lot of money to invest, but I don't see Fiverr going anywhere anytime soon, so I guess it's a good investment. Pretty cool!

Are you sure Gigbucks isn't a Fivver company? They are both situated in Israel Either it's a Fivver clone or they had the same web designer? Looks hot. Maybe "Swagbucks" is next.

i don't think that gigbucks is a fiverr site...
What company would create a site without redirecting the traffic to it's main site ?! and on gigbucks i haven't seen any footprints.

But i agree with Charle3, i never thought that fiverr is so big. Plus i did not knew that they had 5 million invested.
Plus i can't imagine what 40 people work at fiverr ? now really ?! what they do there ? let's say that they have 5 coders and 2 designers + 1 ceo, 2/managers (of who knows what), 1 person who take care of finance + 5 more people that have fun there = 16 people, what would 24 more people do ?

silentthunder, i think that he is the owner of mycheapjobs, and i'm glad and happy everytime a bhater is making money even with clones.
My simple question is, how profitable is that ? 50$ profit or 100$ profit per month ?
And i don't think that Swagbucks
is just another clone of fiverr, have a totally different design(1), and you almost don't know what's inside until you don't register/enter. But on fiverr, from the homepage you see the "content" .

Customer support for example. They have the fastest and most effective customer support I've ever seen in a long time, specially in an online business. Even before I was promoted to Level 2 Seller Status, their customer support was simply outstanding. At any time, at any day of the week, they managed to answer all my queries within 5 minutes or less.

With that dedication and work philosophy, I have no doubt that Fiverr is going to grow much more than most of us can imagine.

    yes, you're right.
I completely forgot about customer service.

So, they plan to double their team by the end of 2012, this means that they will also double their traffic.

Interesting, what promotional methods they will chose ?

I didn't say anything about mycheapjobs. The cloning project my client approached me about will be lucrative and well thought out like everything they do. Always nice to be informed before passing judgement. Better still not to judge.

I've gotten a lot of hate from this forum about my clone...being called "not a real biz" and "get my own idea" etc...

MCJ is just something I do on the side, it is not my primary business.

The reason I wanted to build a strong micro jobs site was 2 fold:

    1. To reach people that had never heard of Fiverr (and there are a crap load of them out there)
    2. To have my own base of vendors I know and trust. I get a 20% discount.

That's pretty brilliant, I'm thinking of making a clone of your clone called 20percentr.com

I'm completely OK with clones. Everybody do clones now days and make a lot of money !!!
I see almost everyday on techcrunch acquisition of millions $ only for clones.
My conclusion: if you don't have an idea, copy something and try to make it even better !

And one thing i am sure about: nobody will ever succeed in making "another" Blackhatworld.

The "micro job" niche is a toddler industry. Reality and skill of players determine what's needed and what isn't. Meanwhile you're making money now or eventually by providing ways to help others do the same. What a great thing to do. We'll probably read about you in a few turning down multi million dollar offers  or accepting one.

I wish I had more time to put into it....I literally spend about 15 minutes a day on it....making sure people got what they ordered, clearing out vendor withdrawals etc...

I want to do a site re-design on it so it doesn't look like fiverr at all....probably in a few months and then I will sell it.
