Hello everyone,

I'm a new member in BHW, but I've been dabbling with online marketing since the beginning of 2017 with Amazon Affiliate Sites.

Back then I had a mentor who told me what to do and what resources to use, but I was extremely skeptical about the whole "make money online" thing that I disregarded almost everything he said. But I did follow his advice a little bit. Thanks to that, even though I was a total newbie and did things terribly, I made my first few cents online after like 3 months. If someone saw me how excited I was seeing those pennies on the Amazon affiliate section, they might have thought I won the lottery or something. I was screaming and jumping up and down constantly lol Anyway but that died down quickly after a few days and I didn't work on it so no more money was made.

Then I paid for a copywriting mentor and he was more strict so I made huge progress with him. I made $200+ under his guidance selling my copywriting service. But once again, my work ethic and belief system failed me to reach higher than that.

Now I see the pattern and I'm trying to fix my mistakes. Mistakes being: lack of patience, easily swayed by emotions, lack of work ethic, strengthening my belief that I can do this.

Since I have previous good experience with selling copywriting service, I'm going to focus on that. First, I'm going to focus on Fiverr. I used Fiverr last time with my mentor, but after I got a bit lazy and got a few bad reviews, I couldn't generate more traffic by manually going through the buyer requests. Since my only source of traffic was "shut down" I had no more revenue. But now I'm combatting that with new traffic sources. I'm not good with generating traffic, so I'm using a course on Udemy to help me learn how.

With the side income I generate with Fiverr, I'm hoping to buy a 15-inch Macbook Pro. It's always been a fantasy of mine. Sitting in a coffee shop and working with it in or on a university campus grass during a nice sunny day working with Macbook Pro. Right now I have a decent but not great Acer notebook that I bought 3 years ago.

Anyway I've created this thread trying to fix my work ethic problem by being accountable to you guys and updating this. Hope I don't give in easily this time.

Welcome to the forum.
I moved this to the Journey Discussion section for you.

Love the username, quite different.

Not convinced mentoring really works personally in the majority of cases. Often it's people just trying to earn a quick buck.
That said, we don't promote mentoring on here, so if anyone is silly enough to ask for more details, report them and ignore their request.

Good luck with the journey and https://www.blackhatworld.com/forums/copywriting-sales-persuasion.168/ for more ideas.

All the best. Regarding that Macbook, I hope you earn enough to get it in next few months.

Thanks, yeah hopefully I will be able to get it soon. To be honest, I do have the money right now to buy it but I'm using it as incentive to not give up on the journey :)

Thanks MisterF. Haha yeah, I ran through the random username generator and found this unique fellah. Yeah I don't think I'm going to be using another mentoring. I paid $1,200 for the copywriting thing and I want to at least break even in that personal investment so I'm doing this Fiverr side business. Now I know enough that it's mostly down to my work ethic. Thanks for the tip, I'll be sure to do that :)

Good luck man, we've just had our best month on Fiverr with content writing but on the 15th we lost our level 2 status due to not answering a tonne of spam messages which we should have reported so it didn't count on our response rate. Funnily enough, it hasn't actually affected sales.

Which new method did you say you learnt on generating traffic apart from responding to buyer's request?

Thanks man. Oh man that sucks. I had just reached level 1 status few months ago, but they changed the requirements around a bit and I got kicked off right away haha. Oh that's great, I guess your customers don't mind whether you're level 1 or 2 :)

I didn't really specify what new method I learned. But if you want to know, right now I'm planning to post into a Facebook group to generate some extra traffic.

op, how do you pick your 'man' when do your journey ?
based on what criteria ?

Progress Report

Well, I've tweaked my previous gig yesterday or the day before (I forgot) and here's the result of clicks so far.

I would post the picture, but since I can't add links yet, I'll just write it out here.

Day 1 - 1 click / 0 sale
Day 2 - 4 click / 0 sale

It's all from organic Fiverr search results. Not doing any extra marketing yet.

Day 3 - 6 impressions / 0 clicks / 0 sales

Just promoted the gig for the first time in a Facebook group. Will see how the results go.

@IronWeber gave me a cool tip on how to make money from Fiverr. And the process is being implemented as we speak. It's sort of grey-black-hat-ish but I will see how it turns out.

Oh, and I got my first message asking about my portfolio. It's been awhile since I did that and it got my heart racing a bit lol

Basically for anyone who doesn't care to go through all of the fluff, the method above stated that get some "fake" traffic to your views in order to get more visibility in the search engines.

I bought some traffic from a seller on Fiverr (the irony, am I right?). He didn't have a lot of reviews (just 9), and his customer support wasn't that great so I was skeptical a bit. But I wanted it implemented quickly and other "popular" sellers had a bunch of gigs they needed to complete first.

Anyway the results came back.

Day 4
  • Impressions = 3 (down but I'm guessing this is impression from the Fiverr search results. I'm just happy it's not 0)
  • Clicks = 3 (So far my CTR is great when compared with the impressions so there is no need to change the title)
  • Gig views = 55 (Man, it's the first time since I started Fiverr that it climbed this high lol. I'm thrilled. I'm just thankful that guy on Fiverr wasn't a total fraud.)
  • Social gig views = 14 (I'm guessing he's using social media to bring me traffic as well)
  • Orders = 0 (Okay)
P.S.

My desire to stop this and work on another project is so fucking high. But man I know I gotta be patient. So I'm listening to binuaral beats meditation on Youtube and trying to calm myself down a bit.
