This is my first time creating a facebook fanpage to monitize, so I'm learning as I go. As of now, I'm averaging about 20+ likes a day without advertising or commenting at all. This is what I did to quickly get my first 100+ fans in under a couple of days:

    1) Create an account with a picture of your niche as the profile picture. If you're trying to monitize something with animals, your profile picture might be of a puppy or kitten. Comment on a couple of big pages and add a few people. My niche site revolves around adult pics with a little twist to really engage the audience, so my profile picture is a hot chick, but she isn't naked. This is arguably the easiest way to get people to add you on facebook.

    2) After you have an account with friends, invite them to your fan page. That's all there is to this step. I average 50-100 friend requests a day and once a day I run a js script through my google chrome console to automatically select and invite all my current friends to the page. About 60% of the people in the fan page are friends, the rest are from organic traffic, which grows daily.

    3) Post regularly. I post a picture every 12 hours and it has really helped boost my likes. If someone comments/likes your picture, then most of their friends will see it and it will draw them to your page. The amount of fans that you receive should increase exponentially over time. None of my pictures went viral yet, but I don't count on them to. From what I've noticed in my niche, similar fan pages that post similar pictures have a 100:1 ratio of picture likes to picture shares. I am getting about 15 likes on each photo I post, so the tipping point for me should in theory be once I pass 100 likes.

Helpful tip: Like or share a picture with your main account from your fan page. Some people did not accept the page invite right away but were contantly liking the pictures that I shared (as well as my profile pics). It was only a matter of time before they liked the page instead of the individual pics that I shared.

These are, in my opinion, very basic tips for the easiest niche to get likes. I'll continue learning from other pages and will update you on ways of how I monitize my fanpages and websites. I will create multiple fan pages in the future and apply what I have learned in the past to them to see how quickly I can get 100k fans.

My goal is to get to 1M fans across the span of a year with a couple of pages through solid content rather than buying likes and spamming my pages. Let them come to you if you want a targetted audience that will convert.

    Stats so far:
    April 23, 2013
    126 likes (1 page)
    740 friends (1 account)

    EDIT:

Tips to drive more traffic to fanpage/website:
    1) Have contests. Offer a free shirt, giftcard, or payment via Paypal to the person who gets the most likes/comments. This will increase traffic by getting more people to see your content and it also has the added bonus of increasing content interaction. Host these contests on your page to ensure that the traffic you are getting will stick long after the contest is done. I plan on having weekly and monthly contests once the site becomes profitable.

    2) I will have multiple pages and multiple accounts in the future to increase traffic and lower the chance of Facebook banning all my pages at once.
Regardless of whether or not my pages get banned I will pay fan pages with 100k+ likes to plug my link to their page or give me a shout out on their status updates. This one-time playment should pay off 10 times over if some of the traffic comes back regularly.

    3) I plan to monitize my site with ads that pay based on impressions. In the future I may also have affiliate links of CPA links. I also have ideas of selling my own products, which worked out extremely well for another fan page in a similar niche with a different angle.

I'll add more ideas on how to increase traffic and monitize this idea as I find out more. Thanks for the support thus far!

Did I post in the wrong forum? I know that there is a Journey forum, but I felt like this belonged in this forum instead. If a mod feels that this thread belongs elsewhere, please move it.

Keep in mind that FB can delete your page anytime they want, so do not rely on this too much, but good luck.

All the best on your journey. As your likes increase, increase the number of times you post daily. 1m is a long way to go, but with the right spirit, you can reach there :)

I plan to direct traffic to my website after I hit 10k fans, just incase something like this happens. I will also have multiple pages in the future on multiple accounts, to mitigate any set backs. Worst case scenario, I can pay one of these 100k+ fan pages related to my niche to post my link to drive traffic to my site.

Edit: Had to verify facebook account via photo quiz. Got it on the 3rd try. I think that I will only send invites once a week instead of 1-2 times a day to prevent this from happening. I may also update the status once or twice to make it seem like a normal account. Don't know how the Facebook spam account algorithm works, but I'm sure it can't hurt.

    Update:
    April 24, 2013
    161 likes (1 page) +35
    840 friends (1 account) +100

I had to verify that my account wasn't a bot via photo quiz, which is why I didn't send any invites out since yesterday. To make up for the lack of invites to my friends list, I tagged about 90 people in 2 photos. Some of these people were already fans and some were not. About 15 of the 35 new fans came from my friendslist and the rest were organic or friends of friends. Once I hit 1000 friends I might mass tag people and send out an invite as well. I'm hoping for 150-200 likes on that day.

Website created and will begin to drive traffic once fan page hits 1k. After 10k fans, I will start a new fanpage under a different name in a similar category to work a different angle and gain a bigger audience. The second page should gain popularity quicker since I will also advertise it on my original page.

You're right, copyrights are a big issue in this field. At the moment I am getting photos off of other pages, but these photos are photos that I have seen on multiple fan pages before. If someone complains about my photos, I will take them down and start over again. Right now I'm focusing on gaining fans as quickly as possible while complying with Facebook's rules and then I will have contests every week with the pics that my fans will provide me with. These pics will have to be verified by them that they are the owners and with that there will not be any issues with my site and fan pages.

Good luck on your journey mate but let me tell you that until and unless you have an already established business or some kind of viral app which you have control of, it is impossible to make a new 1m page by just posting :) I have been working with pages for 4 years now and I made a few fan pages from scratch, but those were with the help of a few apps and tagging on other pages :) I don't want to demotivate your journey but just letting you know the hard way :)

The 1M journey is a goal that I have on the side, not the main one. The main goal is to drive enough people to my site to monitize it. I know that once people go on my site, they will come back to it. I've had friends say that the site is a really good idea and it's also one that engages the audience. Even if I reach 100k fans, I will be more than happy. When I first started out, though, I thought it would be a bit easier to gain likes because I saw some pages in my niche had 10k fans in 2-3 weeks and I'm a little under 200 now about a week in, which is a bit discouraging. It doesn't take up much time, so I'll keep doing it and see where it takes me. That way, I won't regret not trying it in the future :)

On a side note, I tagged about 500 people in 10 photos before Facebook wanted to give my account a 14 day ban for mass tagging. Instead, they gave me a quiz about which people I have tagged in photos and this one I was able to answer correctly fairly quickly because my main facebook account is also an admin, so all I had to do was log in to that account in a different broswer and ctrl+f until I found a name that matched the choices.

While tagging these people, I received 30 more friend requests and another 20 likes. By tomorrow I'm hoping on hitting 250 likes and 1k friends.

My 10 photo reach went from 200-400 on average to 1200-2000 in an hour. Definitely beats paying for ads haha

Edit: 5 minutes after their photo tag quiz, they want me to reverify my account via phone. This is fine because I gave them my friend's phone number and he will just send me the code.

I will lay off the account for a day or two and wait for the friend requests to add up. After a while I will just share/like the photos from the page and hope that people see it and like the page.

If you want a targeted audience and have some money to invest check on this forum there is a guy who sells quality facebook accounts (search for fbfbfb) with real friends. Grab one with over 1-2k fans and you can do a lot of things with such an account.

I have spoken to him and will look into buying a 5K account from him in the near future. Just want to see how far I can get with this on my own and then I'll begin to scale up once I start making money. It might even be extremely profitable to buy from him and I might just buy out all his accounts :)

nice thread. very informative. I am doing something similar, inviting friends to page. But have to be careful. Facebook really strict about this. Since all they want is you to use their ppc. greedy bastards.

An interesting thing has been happening the past couple of days. As of now, I have received 3 messages from users with a very similar message: "Hey [fan page name], there's something about this page that bothers me. Would you mind taking it down?" The last message made me suspicious because the people is a latino male who I'm not friends with and everything on his facebook page is in spanish, yet his grammar was perfect in the message. It is possible that these 3 people are infact offended about these fully clothed pics, or it could just be competition trying to slow down the growth of the page. Anyway, I just blocked them and reported them for spam.
