Hello all! The name's Terry, and I'm fresh on the "making money on the internet" scene..I have a friend who's been a member for a few months and his success is what brings me here..So of course I'm very eager to learn and willing to work..I welcome and would greatly appreciate any advice on where to start, I don't need my hand held, I'm self reliant so I just need to be pointed in the right direction...

There is tons and tons of info to be had here, read up find something you enjoy and profit from it

Hey glad to see you here - Just as Sharpedge said, read some stuff you like and go from there.

I would suggest you start in the CPA forum as I can give you a ton of tips on that :)

One of the things said to me when I first started out was pick a topic you already enjoy. As simple as it sounds its so true. Starting out can be slow and boring and often you dont see results instantly for your efforts. You then ask yourself "is all this worth it". If you had picked a niche that you didnt really enjoy you may just pack in. If though it was something you enjoyed you would still carry on and eventually your efforts will be rewarded. This forum will supply you alot of valuable info. Read Read and Read again.

Welcome to BHW :)

Greetings to all & to Dev-Gank - I've read many of your posts!

Welcome to BHW. If you are brand new, the best thing to do is go through and read the stickies. They have invaluable information. Remember that not everything that works for someone else will work for you. Be creative and think outside the box. There are ways to generate sales without spending any money on advertising which can sometimes be important for someone just starting out. If you are planning on using ppc, find some coupons. There is one available for ysm that gives you $100 in clicks and you only have to spend $30 to get it. (I'll try and remember to post the link later. I only have it bookmarked on my laptop.) Always use the search button before you ask a question. Most of the time the information you are looking for already exists. Once you decide on a project don't get too engrossed reading all the new information. It gets so addictive that you don't budget time to actually make money. Lastly, don't jump in and out of projects. Decide on what you what to do, test it out, tweak it, then decide if it works or now. You will blow more money and time trying the "new" method just posted and not focusing on making one successful.

Good Luck!

Hey welcome to BHW, and I am glad that some of my posts were able to help you.

Da buck's post sums it all up. It really comes down to picking one method you are interested in and spending a bunch of time implementing it until it works.

Good luck!

Here is the link to the $100 couple for YSM.

Great idea, I'll do that, too!

This is very wise advice from someone who, no doubt, has been there, done that. It is true however, that most of us need to touch the "hot stove" to know first-hand not to do it again. I just finished unsubscribing to 25 newsletters and there are others are still coming in. Phew!

Get organized, develop systems and document what you are doing. For example, I now have one spreadsheet to keep track of all my websites. Also, I use Mind Maps (see MindJet or theBrain) to track projects and all the information needed to develop and implement those projects. Lastly, work with a partner or partners (local or remotely) when possible.

Hi there spyder and welcome to the forum. One tip I can give you, if you see an ebook or eproduct that you are tempted to buy. Dont. Just check back here and see if its worth it... Usually you can download these products from rapidshare anyways. Also, try not spend too much when starting, unless you have researched the product and know 100% that it will be worth it.
