    Hey folks..

    Yesterday I updated to FF4.
The design is slick even though I don't like it.. Too modern but I guess it just takes time to get used to.

The thing is, it slows down the computer badly, and as a person who use many, many tabs open at most times - It is just unbelievable how it sucks.

First.. It consumes way more memory than FF3.X.. Each tab is about 20K WTF? it wasn't like that on previous versions.
If I open more than 5 tabs it becomes painfully slow... Just sucks...

I have a good machine here... Anyone experience the same?

Tabs are no problem at all, like others have said. In fact, it's been considerably faster than 3.6. Do you have any addons activated? I know for a fact that the seo addons (I.e SEO for firefox) increases usage by a lot. Disable them if you're not using them.

Yeah I stopped using FF as my primary browser because it would lock up if I had more than 5 tabs open.

I now use Chrome all the time, and usually have about 150-200 tabs open, lol.

I've been using Chrome for about 3 years now. I tried the new Firefox, hated it. I kinda like IE9. Never thought I'd say that.

I had multiple plugins that I use that were not working in 4, and I didn't feel like messing around to get the layout back to what I wanted, so I reverted back to 3.6 immediately.

Hopefully future updates will be better.

Most likely there are issues with the add-ons. that is why firefox is sluggish and crashes. try de-installing all add-ins.

Yeah, I'd recommend Chrome as well. The only use of Firefox for me is for iMacros and that is just because the iMacros version on Chrome sucks.
