I bought a domain about 2 months back, an EMD with 100k exact searches. Plus a few 10-20k exact searches for nice related terms.

I've finally got round to putting a wordpress site related to the keyword up.

Now i usually have no problem getting things indexed, using the stats/value sites i tend to get at least the front page indexed.
i also use the Google webmaster tools and manually added the site.

But the only thing that is indexed is a folder of images that i had up for backup.

Try as i might i can't get any pages in the index.

Anyone want to share some tips?

sign up at pinterest.com and pin a few images from the site. Google is crawling pinterest.com like crazy. I've tested on several new domains. The entire site was indexed in less than 10 hours.

This is just ONE way to get it done. There are several others, but I don't think any of you will have tried pinterest.com for indexing sites. works like a charm.

You can try listing your new site on Google Webmaster Tools. Rhey use a code snippet system for verification. Once you add the code to your site and verify it, Googlebot will visit.

Was the domain previously owned by someone else? It's a possibility that a previous owner got the site deindexed. You could always apply for a reconsideration through webmaster tools.

Getting a site indexed should not take any effort at all. If I get a new domain and put up a placeholder site with no backlinks Google will find it and index the site.

If you have a site that is not getting indexed then either you have done something that Google does not like or the previous owner did something that Google did not like.

While you could try for a reconsideration from Google I personally have never had a site come back from being blacklisted. If it was me I would stop throwing good money after bad and just start over with a different domain.

That is what I was thinking. Happened to me once. I purchased a domain that had previously been deindexed by G. Do a search for the domain on "wayback machine" and see if there is any history for it.

    nope never registered before.

The other domain i had is now indexed but this one just sticks with an empty folder with some images in it.

Its saying at the "high" 2000 odd pages have been crawled but they're just not sitting in the index :(

PM the website address to a few members here, mate. I'm sure you'll get a little more educated answers to your question. Its hard to say whats the problem is without seeing the website itself.

Google Webmaster tools is your best bet. Also, you can try some basic pinging and submission services.
