Probably a noob question but,how do I find out how many people are searching a keyword? I see alot of people in their post stating "This keyword has low competition only 14k searches".

Can anyone let me know of a tool or website?

Depends on a lot of things..

What region are the searches coming from?
Who are going to be your competitors on the top 10?
What does the long term monetary value look like?

If you know these three [ you can find these 3 out in like ~15-20 seconds ]

    You can then move onto

Do I have the funds/work ethic to beat out the top 10?
Do I have an advertisement for these regions?
Is this worth my time to do.

If you're serious about it just make sure to get yourself Market Samurai and your journey trying to find new niches will be much smoother. There should be a free download link somewhere around the forum, but it's worth every cent should you want to get it the "right" way. ;)

You can use Google Adwords Keyword Tool or any other keyword research tool like Market Samurai or Keyword Scout.

Good luck determining the long term monetary value of a set of keywords in 15-20 seconds.
    Seriously, good luck.
It takes me weeks of actually SEOing the keywords + a ton of competition research to make a rough GUESS at the total monetary value... Even then, it's happened before that I've been off by an entire order of magnitude positive or negative.

To get an idea of how much work will be done against any keyword having "__" number of searches I would suggest you use Google's own keyword tool. Apart from being very easy to use and pretty self explantory you can also find out how many people search the web using that keyword and how much competition there is for that keyword.

Market Samurai and other keyword research tools draw their no of searches results also from Google's own Keyword Tool.
