This is my first guide, i hope you guys enjoy it. You will be able to find paid stockphotos easily and efficiently.

Today i was looking for good stock photos all of them required credits. Today I wasted one hour trying coupon codes and secret pages for istockphoto that don't work.

Now that is the orthodox method of getting free images. What i picked up was getting the stockphoto title or keywords.

For mine: "modern business man istockphoto" and the i run a search on google images there will be my image. You can use this for all stockphoto networks.

    One thing i noticed:
A lot of people who buy the stockphoto searched using that keyword and usually save the unwatermarked image with similar keywords.

    Fastest method:
search image on stockphoto site (not google image first)
Search google image with stock photo keywords

This has worked for me on a lot of images, saving myself money!!

I know alot of people use images daily i hope you found this guide helpful, a thank you will be nice :)

and if you only want the small thumbnails you can save the page and grab them all from the saved files.

You do your search then save the first page move the the second result page and save it, it defaults to the same name so accept that and keep going, the thumbnails will not overwrite. after you have harvested all you want.

go to the directory with the files, sort by type, delete all that are not images. and you've got yourself a nice collection of accent images for using on your pages.

I know this is blackhat but can you get into any legal trouble using these photos since you didn't pay for them? (i.e using them in ebooks)

yep you can get in trouble if you use those images in anything you sell ... websites, app and so on .. but normally for the rest you should be ok. and if you want to make sure to not have any problem, change the image a bit.

I hate to say it, but major Stock Photo business' are extremely protective of their images and will send a "please prove you own this" image request to anyone they think is using an image without permission.

With the number of freely available stock photo sites and Creative Commons images around these days, why risk it when Ghetty will sue you for using their images without permission.

    Cheers,
    Niggles

thanks may not be blackhat but still helpful.

This is not black hat, this is theft.

Be very careful about stealing stock photos as the big stock photo agencies are very protective about people using their images without a license and some (getty) are known for coming down like a pile of bricks on those they catch.

There are plenty public domain / creative commons images out there. Use them instead.

You can filter out creative commons licensed images on flickr.
