I've gone through a few marketing, particularly copywriting courses and I have to say, with "KICK-ASS Copywriting Secrets Of A Marketing Rebel" has my juices flowing. I may have to make a journey thread about it.

Some of my other courses mention that in order to learn, you should physically write and copy word for word the sales letters that you admire (often with suggestions). So I am going through this program and picking and choosing some of my favorite paragraphs to handwrite.

Anyone read through the material yet? Thoughts and takeaways?

Hey man it looks good but kind of old, do you believe that copyrighting stays the same with time ?
im a newbie here and i want to master copyrighting, i realized that i absolutely suck (for now) at writing to optimize conversions, how i wish to write and what needs to be written to touch the audience are 2 different things and honestly, fuck wishing washing writing, i need some cold hard wisdom on copyrighting do you thing this will help ?

Selling DVDs in 2019 and even convincing people to buy it? That alone made me think that his copy was quite good..

Haven't read it yet but for a copywriting course, that front page design looks hella ugly.

Looks like a 70 year old high school teacher just figured out how to use Powerpoint in 2005.

Yeah it looks very old, i mean the DVD tells it all, it looks like an ad from the early 2000s on tv "Available in BLUE RAY! " , if OP still bought it it must be some Old Wisdom that's always applicable.

I don't even think I can open that CD/DVD on my computer

I think Copywriting as a craft does not change that much over time. The style might change, but the foundations don't. And when I say style, I am talking about the style for different types of advertising. John Carlton's focus is more "sensationalist" and uses outrageous copy. Almost borderline misleading, but he seems to have good integrity and always ties the story in well with the "out of this world" story.

The material is great if you need to add a little spice to your writing, but if you are marketing something like high-technology or energy B2B, it may not be useful for you.

But I think his material is amazing if you are going B2C, or just want to capture more attention.

It is not a DVD, it is an MP3.

Very ugly, good material inside though. Definitely makes you realize the power of good marketing. The material delivers though. It is about copywriting after all, and not how to design a cover.

It was recommended by a special friend, very good advice in there. It is definitely helpful if you take it seriously.

Hilarious.
