Gov't Agencies already have the ability do to massive surveillance and data gathering, but private companies even small ones will soon be able to it as well.

CPGPU computing is about to get a huge jump forward with Pascal, this is from last years GTC. GPU"s can be used for facial recogntion with programs such as matlab and other software.

I was reading about that DeepFace AI system yesterday.
I already thinking of closing my personal account because this is going to far! But closing mine is not going to solve that much because other people can upload photos from me and tag me ... Soon they will have a database on everybody and can spot you and identify you wherever you go ...

So maybe this is going to be the end for facebook when everybody will blur their faces ...

I think only a few people will close their Facebook accounts, to many persons like the ability to brag so much and appear better than they are.

Plus Deep Learning has implications outside FB that can be more invasive, for example a company could provide low cost security cameras in exchange for having it connected to a database of the company.

Furthermore, FB never deletes your account completely. It never goes, you can activate it even after 3 years..Deleting it cant bar them from accessing user details

I did the perma delete one time, yet was able to access my account nearly 4 years later with nothing missing.

Services that use Deep learning facial recognition in combination with something such as the creepy python script are probably of bigger concern than FB.
