Ok, so I've started one of these up (a file sharing site, like mediafire, rapidshare, etc.), and I know a TON of places don't let you post links to those annoying download sites that make you fill out a survey or whatever (and those seem to be the only file sharing sites that pay the uploaders for every download they get).

If I offered something like $.50 - $1 per 1k downloads on a filesharing site that was purely ad supported (ie a popup and a banner or two on the DL page, just like mediafire) would there be interest in here in promoting it?

I've got the money, but don't want to put all the effort of creating a points program and a payment system if no one is interested in promoting downloads for a dollar or less CPM on a site like mediafire that isn't obnoxious to DL from.

So, if you're interested either post here or PM me and I'll put you on the list, if I get 30 or 40 interested parties I'll get the ball rolling on the project so you can make some money from the file sharing sites.

How would you get the ads served with a guaranteed cpm like that? You have a specific ad network in mind?

It sounds like a great idea, and I'd definitely use it on one of my upcoming projects.

I don't have a 'guaranteed' CPM, but I do run a large http proxy network and this traffic will be very similar in behavior to that one (ie ignoring all the ads on the page), and I know that I can offer payouts in that range and make some money for my investment based on what I get paid per CPM from my proxy network traffic. So I do have specific networks in mind, but I'm not looking to share them and fire up ten competitors to what I'm doing.

My main concern is I cannot offer something rediculous like $10 like some of those sites that make you fill out surveys and that crap, so I wasn't sure if people would be interested. If you are currently running with one of those higher paying sites, keep in mind that with a less obtrusive download site you'll get significantly more downloads.

I'll add you to the list.
