    Hey guys!

First and foremost, thank you for assisting me and helping me out. This may have been asked here (used the search function but couldn't find anything concrete) but which is the better approach? Fewer PBN with high metrics vs Many PBN with Average Metrics.

I have 5 money sites that I have been growing and making a small income from. I?m looking at private blog networks. It seems that running a PBN network of 15+ domains is time consuming and a big job. Would it be a better option to invest in fewer PBN but with really high metrics? Instead of using a PBN with decent metrics, we use a domain with a pr 3+, high domain authority, trust flow etc.

I was thinking of purchasing 5 domains (they?ll be very expensive), host them on 5 different hosting popular platforms and linking 1 pbn per money site (5 pbns, 5 money sites). Does 1 really powerful PBN link beat multiple average PBN links? What do you think?

With that being said, if i took the fewer pbn approach, the site quality would be so much better. I enjoy creating sites, building content. I find it interesting and its a hobby of mine (helps me keep me sane from my crazy ass girlfriend).

In theory, both approaches are equal, the difficult part is knowing where the numbers intersect each other e.g. 5 powerful domains == ??? less powerful domains.

For me it's a matter of managing risk, which is essentially how I treat everything relating to SEO. Yes, I could risk the money and buy 5 powerful domains for lets say an arbitrary $1000 and that MIGHT achieve the rankings that I need.

For me though, I take the approach that I'd rather buy 80 less powerful domains for the same cost (registration fee - granted you have to have the ability to do this) and wager that they'll get the job done. For me, I can carry out all the necessary analysis on the 5 domains and still be unsure that they'll get the job done, whereas 80 less powerful domains are not only likely to have a few hidden gems in there but I can also continue the strategy of adding another 20, 30, 40 in time and be fairly confident that I'll get there in the end.

Essentially, if budget is a concern, adding less powerful domains allows you to risk your money in smaller increments.

There are other risks that mitigate that benefit that I haven't gone into. More PBNs == a higher footprint/de-indexing risk, potential management costs, spiraling hosting costs etc. Ultimately, both approaches are 'correct', different strokes for different folks and their budget.

EDIT: If you do that shit to escape your girlfriend...fuck me, you've got bigger problems than PBN theory, you need a new girlfriend, one life and all that jazz.

Good advice from myopic1. I too would favour a handful of decent pbn domains over one really powerful one for reasons mentioned above and referring domain diversity.

It would be better to have more domains in your PBN, for better IP diversity

It is pretty unnatural to only rank with 3-4 extremely high quality links. It doesn't look natural for a website to not gain popularity (by having smaller and bigger sites link to it), but only get the attention of a few authority sites.

What you can do is get some less powerful domains as a base - and once that is set up, just increase with the more powerful ones. I wouldn't do it without the "base" ones as you want your link profile to look natural.
