Let's say that I want improve local ranking for my business. My idea is to boost it with reviews (Currently I have just 3 reviews with average score 4.8) since I'm new I would like to hear your opinion.

    My current knowledge:
I know it's not all about reviews, google also use Phone Number, Name, Location as a factor for ranking.
Since I optimized name and set phone number for that area, I think that now I should focus on reviews.

    Questions I have:
    - Let's say that I have 50 google accounts, Phone verified (Phone numbers from Europe), created with proxies from USA. They are all approx one month old. Is it good idea to write reviews with them for USA based business?
    - Why google removes some reviews is it just when someone reports or there might be different reason?
    - Is it possible to boost ranking with reviews from different locations?
    - How hard it was from your experience to rank up local business?

I think reviews are more important for a listings CTR rather than actually a weighted ranking factor. Google doesn’t put that much weight in the factor because it’s so easily spammed.

If you are trying to rank in the map pack you have to build geo relevancy to your gmb landing page.

If your trying to write fake reviews I would first build up the profiles with at least 5 reviews of other businesses in the area.

Why would you want to write fake reviews for your competitors?

What if somone blasted your profile with 100+ 1-2 star reviews?

I figured that Google been observing those google account who leave a review there, how is the google account activity, i mean you have to make that profile active on other thing, rather than just to review your page. From what i know, that might be the reason google removes some of the reviews

What elements of geo relevancy do you think are important, but overlooked and/or forgotten about?

What type of business is it? If you are a plumber try and get real reviews.
Local Visibility systems has a free guide on his page for local seo. I subscribe to his emails, but never used him.

About 5 years ago reviews were a huge ranking factor, lately I have seen too many reviews or fake reviews actually having a negative impact on listings. I would recommend steering away from fake reviews. Look at what else you could be doing such as making sure your map embed is correct, citations, GEO-tagging and adding meta data to photos, on-page and so much more.
